You Should Have Known
Disclaimer: I do not own Supernatural or any of its characters.
A/n: This was written before Friday's premiere episode for season 7. Just a little snippet I thought of one night when I was thinking about the end of season 6.
Well this sucks…
Little Cas needed a better babysitter when he was growing up in Angelland. Maybe then my best mate would be a little less psychotic at the moment.
I blame those Winchester menaces. Sucks that they're also the only ones who can fix this. If those two spent less time causing trouble, we wouldn't have to trust them so much when it came to fixing the world.
I need a drink…
Little baby Cas…
Now he's Big Bad Daddy, ready to give the whole planet the spanking they've been asking for. Maybe send them to their room and tell them they can't come out until everything's clean. No one gets Paradise for dessert until everyone's finished cleaning up their messes. I have a feeling there's going to be a little more than just teenage rebellion from this grounding.
Oh Lord Castiel, what will you do?
I think I know…
I wasn't your best mate for nothing.
Eventually, Castiel, you are going to see the light.
Castiel will make the right decision.
Cas has something dear, old Dad never had. (And it's not thousands of souls from Purgatory coursing through his veins.) Castiel has family.
A real family.
Dad never really had that.
God had followers.
He had soldiers.
Had pets and experiments.
We are not God's children. We are his toys.
Castiel will eventually come to realize his mistakes, his misunderstandings, and he will know what the right thing to do is.
Those damn Winchesters and their friends may be huge troublemakers, but they know what really matters in the end. Cas is a bloody, blessed bastard to have them.
Just wish I could be there to see it.
Cheers mates…
The End.
A/n: This is from Balthazar's point of view, right after Castiel kills him. I already miss Sebastian Roche and his v-neck shirts. I always had faith in Castiel, or, at least, that Sam and Dean would save him. But what will happen now?
