Grandma says that when people are alive they believe they have two options when they die, they either go to heaven and live in paradise or they o to hell and live in agony. Grandma say they are wrong. We only have one option.
Despair.
The day was hot and dry. The ground burned her feet and the thin ratty robe-which was barely being held together by a slightly better thin, ratty piece of cloth-felt like it was almost to much. Her tounge felt like it was going to collapse into a pile of sand at any moment. She was so thirsty, and hungry.
So, so hungry
Suddenly as if fate had decided to grace her with one of its rare acts of kindness she saw a red apple drop into the cramped alleyway she was sitting in from a shingami rushing by.(Well actually she had only seen a black blur for a split second before it disappeared) The girl whipped her head around to see if anyone else had seen it, because as much as she wanted-no needed that apple she simply didn't have the energy or the strength to fight for it. Relieved to see no one else had seen it The girl pulled herself to her feet and stumbled forward-sideways-backwards-forward again-towards the fruit.
It only took five steps before her bony legs gave out, but luckily that was enough. Reaching across the dirt she grabbed the apple with a shaking hand and took a big bite out of it. It was like heaven in her mouth. Eager for more she quickly finished that piece off, but right as she went take another bite she heard something, a clatter. The girl froze scared. Someone must have walked into the allyway while she was distracted by the the little piece of paradise. Slowly she turned her head just enough to be able to peak over her shoulder.
It wasn't adults that we're coming to beat her up for the hell of it like she expected, but she kind of wished it was.
