"Kimmie."

Her eyes seemed different. They were still green, only a different shade. Perhaps it was the lighting, sparse, as the curtains were fully drawn and light only managed to ease in through the occasional crack between the drapes when the wind sighed. Shego was huddled in a corner of a queen-sized bed, blanket up to her neck. When she spoke, it was barely a whisper; a wisp of breath that crackled and faltered. Her every word appeared to pain her slightly, as though speaking was an action she'd only just learnt.

"What are you doing here."

Kim Possible stared at the mess before her. Her once agile and cocky nemesis looked broken beyond repair and in a state worse that the slum she now resided in. With every step the teen hero took towards Shego, the pale green woman seemed to withdraw further into the shadows.

"I came for you. I… Shego, what happened?" Kim reached out to touch Shego, but decided against it, not wanting to further shatter the fragile being before her. Instead she sat herself on the other end of the filthy bed, soaking in the painful silence.

"You. Now, please, leave."

"I can't. You're the only reason I came here and I'm not leaving without you. Tell me how I've done this, how I've hurt you so much."

"You left. Everything before that or after means nothing. I gave you a choice, a choice of a life that promised anything you thought worthy. But you made a choice, a choice we both have to live with."

"I'm sorry Shego, truly sorry. I want-"

"It doesn't matter what you want! It doesn't matter that you're sorry! I gave you a choice and that was all I had left. When you made up your mind to go with another, you made the rest of my life. I have nothing now, nothing to give, nothing to share and nothing to take. There's nothing I want now, not even the great teen hero Kim Possible. Do you hear me Princess? I don't want you anymore. "

"Shego, you don't mean that. You need time. I have time- I have time to give you, all of it. We can try again, we have all the time in the world. We can try again, please. "

"I don't want you. Leave."

"Shego, I lov-"

"I don't! So leave, go now! The last thing I want now is to be close to you. If you care for any part of me, respect my wishes and leave. Never, ever come back. "

Kim Possible got up, fists clenched and jaw set. She jumped out the window and landed in a tree outside. Looking back into the dilapidated house, she gave a final look and jumped onto her motorbike, speeding away into the sunset.

Shego clenched her fists, grabbing harder at the blanket around her body. A single tear slid down her cheek. A small smile of victory graced her lips. Her brain told her she'd made the right move. Her heart ached in disapproval. Shego closed her eyes and, in spite, dared her heart to stop beating.
