The Clown Princess Of Crime

Jerry Jester is a young woman, whose being bullied and treated with disrespect, ever since she was a kid. After going to college and meeting someone who supports her, Jerry decides to stand-up for herself and get revenge on her bullies. She becomes a female version of the Joker.

Note: Batman is owned by DC Comics and was created by writer Bill Finger and artist Bob Kane. Harley Quinn was created by Paul Dini and Bruce Timm.

Jerry Jester was a woman, who had always led a strange life. Due to her first name usually being a male name, she was often made of. Even though Jerry can be a name for both genders, that didn't stop her classmates from teasing her. Another thing, which the students enjoyed making fun of, was her her last name. Jester was a very comedic name, that her family had often been ashamed of, but none of them had the guts to change it.

As if Jerry Jester hadn't dealt with enough humiliation, she was British and had blonde hair, which led to a countless amount of Alice in Wonderland jokes. One year, her parents thought it would be adorable if she dressed up as Alice, for Halloween. Jerry was opposed to the idea, but her parents insisted. Although some adults and a few kids complimented her Halloween costume, dozens of kids mocked her. One overly-harsh kid punched her and took her idea, while claiming he was late for a very important date.

That night, Jerry came home, with a bruise on her face. She was embarrassed by what happened, but she told her parents the truth. Her classmate was given a bunch of detentions, but that hardly made Jerry feel better. She was tired of being a punching bag and a comedy relief, for her friends. She barely felt like a person. She felt like a cartoon, a figment of imagination, for everybody to point and laugh at.

When it came time for Jerry to go to college, she was still an outcast. She had no friends and she distanced herself from her parents. Her parents tried to help her, by telling her to keep an open mind. Although, Jerry had dealt with a string of bad luck, her parents truly believed things could get better. In the past, Jerry had been let-down by her parents, but they were the people she was closest, which wasn't saying much. Because of that, Jerry tried to keep their advice in-mind and be optimistic.

As Jerry was about to head to college, for the first time, she looked at her parents and said, "I better get going."

Jerry's dad, Frank Jester, said, "Have a good one."

Jerry's mom, Julie Jester said, "Be safe, be friendly, and be happy. If you can do those three things, life's going to be wonderful."

Jerry asked, "You really think so?"

Frank said, "Listen to your mom. She's so smart, her classmates called her an egghead."

Jerry sighed and replied, "My classmates have called me much worse."

Julie had a friendly smile on her face, while saying, "That was in the past. College kids are more mature." Frank disagreed with that, but he didn't want to worry his daughter, so he didn't comment on that.

Jerry went to the high school. Although she was trying to be optimistic, she felt nervous. The school's principal, Hugo Strange, walked up to her and said, "You're the new girl, aren't you?" Jerry nodded. Hugo Strange shook her hand, while saying, "I'm the Principal of this school. It's a very unusual, but charming place."

Jerry replied, "To be honest, I doubt I'll fit in. People have been making of my name, for as long as I can remember."

Hugo responded, "My last name is Strange, so you can imagine the teases I got. That petty stuff hardly matters. Living up to your potential and being something special, is what truly matters." He took a closer look at her, while saying, "When I look at you, I see potential."

Jerry asked, "Really?"

Hugo nodded and said, "You're different, unique. Stand out, never blend in."

Jerry replied, "Thank you, Principal Strange."

During the first few classes, Jerry had a normal school day. She heard a few snickers, about her name, but for the most part, things were going fine. However, a decent day was brought to a crushing halt, because of one of the school's most pesky students, Edward Nygma.

While walking to her locker, Jerry was being pestered by Edward. Edward smugly said, "Your name is Jerry Jester, isn't it?"

Jerry gritted her teeth and replied, "Yeah, that's my name."

Edward looked at his classmates, while asking, "Isn't Jester the dumbest last name, that you ever heard? She's a clown, without the humor. The only funny thing about her, is how pathetic she is." He pointed at Jerry and laughed at her.

Jerry asked, "What about your name? Your last name's Nygma? Are you some kind of puzzler?"

Edward felt his ego being hurt, while asking, "Did you insult the last name of Edward Nygma, the smartest student, that this college has ever dealt with?"

Jerry smiled and answered, "If you don't know the answer to that, you're not this school's smartest student." Several students gasped. Edward shook his fist at Jerry, before punching her. Jerry slipped on a banana peel and fell to the ground.

Edward had a smug smile on his face, while saying, "Maybe you're a jester, after-all." Edward and his classmates laughed. Jerry remembered Hugo's advice, about being something special, but she didn't use his advice for a good purpose. She punched Edward into a locker. Edward put ketchup on his face, to trick the school's staff into thinking that Jerry made him bleed.

Edward only got one detention, for punching Jerry. After his punishment was announced, Jerry was sentenced to Principal Hugo Strange's office. Jerry nervously asked, "What's my punishment?"

Hugo Strange answered, "Detentions, for an entire week."

Jerry raised an eyebrow and asked, "A week? Edward only got a one-day detention, despite being the one who started it."

Hugo replied, "You punched him much harder, which made him bleed."

Jerry punched Hugo's desk and said, "It was ketchup."

Hugo replied, "Go to detention. I thought you had potential, for success." He shook his head and said, "You have potential, for failure and you're living up to it."

Jerry went to the detention room. It was a classroom, that appeared to be empty, but that wasn't the case. Jerry sat at one of the desks and looked around, at the mostly-empty classroom. The only other student in detention, sat by Jerry and nudged her. Jerry turned around, feeling surprised.

The other student stuck her hand out and said, "It's nice to meet you. I'm Veronica Jupiter."

Jerry shook her hand and said, "I'm Jerry Jester." She sighed and said, "I know how absurd my name is, so let's get the cheap jokes out of the way. Please, I'm so tired of the mockery and being made fun of."

Veronica Jupiter calmly replied,. "It's okay. I don't feel the need, to make fun of your name."

Jerry looked surprised, while asking, "Really? I'm used to being a punching bag, for people's cheapest and most predictable insults."

Veronica replied, "I don't have the most normal of names, so I understand what you're going through. You shouldn't let other people's judgments bring you down. You seem look a cool chick."

Jerry asked, "Really?" Veronica nodded. Jerry lightly-smiled and said, "Thank you."

Jerry explained to Veronica, how she had been made fun of and treated like crap. Ever since elementary school, Jerry was regularly bullied, called names, and hardly anybody stood up for her. She had wanted to fight back and stand up for herself, but other than a few rare moments, she hadn't been confident or brave.

Veronica said, "I see. Well, instead of letting the bullies control your life, you should be your own boss. If there's something you want in life, you should take it. Don't listen to the rules of society. A normal life is a joke, that stuck-up people treat seriously. Embrace chaos."

The next day, Jerry had decided to follow Veronica's advice. She spray-painted Edward's desk, filled Hugo Strange's office with silly-string, and threw playing cards at anybody who joked about her name. She did a crazy-sounding laugh, while pulling her pranks.

The staff and students had mixed reactions, to Jerry's new behavior. Some thought she was a mischievous, fun prankster, while others thought she was a bratty, crazy jerk. She used to just be people's punchline, but as time went on, she showed the bullies who the really punchlines were.

After a week of Jerry being a prankster, Veronica walked up to her and started talking to her, while in the school's hallway. She asked, "Are you okay?"

Jerry had a big grin on her face, while saying, "Of course I am. In fact, I've never felt more alive." She pinched Veronica's cheek, while saying, "You inspired me, to follow my own path, be my own person."

Veronica replied, "I did and I'm glad about that, but are you sure you want to be a prankster?"

Jerry answered, "I sure do. This is destiny, this is who I should of been. I'm not a pushover and I'm not somebody to make fun of. Instead, I'm going to be joking around and I'll be a far better jokester, than my bullies ever were." She laughed.

Veronica replied, "That's nice and all, but what are you going to do with me?"

Jerry turned around, with a mischievous smile on her face. She said, "Every jokester needs an ace, a knave, a harlequin." She touched Veronica's face, while saying, "That's what you are to me."

Veronica replied, "As long as we're still friends."

Jerry grabbed Veronica by the hand and said, "Come with me. We're going to do pranks, together."

Veronica replied, "That sounds like fun."

Jerry smiled and said, "It's going to be tons of fun."

Principal Hugo Strange replied, "It's going to be tons of nothing, because you're not allowed to do more pranks."

Jerry raised an eyebrow and asked, "What are you talking about?"

Hugo Strange folded his arms and replied, "Your pranks have gone too far. You've ruined the cafeteria, by filling it with expired candy. Plus, you broke the vending machine, ripped Edward's riddle collection apart, and have made paper-angels, out of my taxes."

Jerry responded, "Big, fat, hairy deal." Hugo punched Jerry in the face. Hugo wasn't usually one for fighting, but he had a very muscular hand. Because of that, he was able to knock Jerry out.

When Jerry woke up, she was at a chemical plant and was tied to a chair. She angrily asked, "What's going on?"

Hugo walked by her and answered, "I'm not usually one to betray my students, but due to your aggressive behavior, I had no choice."

Jerry looked confused, while asking, "Why did you take me to a chemical plant?"

Hugo pointed to some tubs of chemicals and said, "One of my teachers, Professor Crane, asked me to get these chemicals, for his fear experiments. I admit I'm fascinated in finding out, what he wants to do with such dangerous chemicals, so I'm taking the chemicals. I brought you here, so you can take the blame." Jerry shook her fist at Hugo. Hugo said, "Even though you didn't do this crime, your pranks have been despicable, so you had this coming." Hugo took the chemicals and ran out.

After several minutes of struggling with the rope, Jerry got free and escaped the chair. She was planning on running out, but Batman showed up. Jerry gritted her teeth and angrily said, "You think I'm the chemical thief, don't you? I'm tired of being bullied and being punished, for what the bullies did."

Batman stepped out of the shadows and calmly replied, "Don't worry. I don't think you're the thief, but you will need to come with me and answer some questions."

Jerry replied, "I'm tired of people questioning my every move, controlling me, bullying me. You've all been ruining my life." Jerry pushed Batman and tried to run away, but she tripped and fell into one of the remaining vats of chemicals. Batman had a guilty look on his face, for failing to save her.

During the next day of school, Jerry didn't attend. Some students thought she was just sick, while others thought she got into an accident. Principal Hugo Strange refused to comment on the matter, which some students thought was suspicious.

After school, Veronica went home and took a shower. After her shower, she got on a bathrobe and went to her bedroom. She looked around and saw Jerry, whose skin had been turned chalk-white. Her lips were bright red, she was wearing a purple suit, and she had a creepy grin on her face. Jerry said, "Greetings, Veronica Jupiter, my favorite gal-pal and planet. I hope you don't mind my sudden visit, but you're the only person I can trust, to not freak-out, about my new appearance."

Veronica was shocked, by what she was seeing, but she was glad Jerry had returned. Veronica asked, "What's going on?'

Jerry explained, "I've changed my look. Well, the chemicals did that, but the suit was my choice. I thought a stylish outfit would be needed, for my new profession."

Veronica nervously asked, "New profession? Dearie, what are you talking about?"

Jerry said, "You see, I used to be a victim, then I was a prankster, but now, I'm the jokester. I'm the ace of knaves, the jester of trouble, the clown princess of crime." She had an evil smile on her face, while saying, "I am the Joker."

Veronica replied, "I see. Well, you know I'll always support whatever lifestyle you choose, as long as you keep being yourself."

Jerry (the Joker) ran across the bedroom and grabbed her purse. She said, "I'm glad you feel that way. I saw the outfits in your closet and it was too drab. How about something, that'll put a smile on my face?" She handed Veronica a harlequin outfit and said, "Put it on and we'll be the ultimate duo."

Veronica replied, "Um, if you say so." Veronica slipped the outfit on. It was red and black, with a few bits of white. She posed at the mirror and asked, "How do I look?"

Jerry smiled and said, "You look lovely, Harley Quinn."

Veronica (Harley Quinn) asked, "What are we going to do?"

Jerry pinched Veronica's cheek, while saying, "We're going to do my favorite type of joke: Revenge."

Jerry and Veronica, now known as the Joker and Harley Quinn, went back to the college. It was after-school, so all of the students had left, along with most of the teachers. The Joker knew that Hugo Strange was still there, so she was planning on breaking in, so she can get revenge on him.

The Joker burst in, while doing one of her crazier laughs. Harley Quinn nervously laughed. She had wanted to help Jerry and inspire her to be herself, but she was worried she'd inspired Jerry, to be something else. Joker burst-open Hugo Strange's office door. Hugo Strange looked at her and asked, "What's going on?"

The Joker had an evil smile on her face, while saying, "It's time for revenge."

Hugo examined the Joker's appearance. A lot of her hair had turned green, due to the chemicals, but some of it was still blonde. Hugo said, "Ah, you're Jerry, aren't you? I must give you credit, but not the good kind. I told you, that you had the potential for failure and wow, did you ever live up to it. Instead of doing anything productive and decent with your life, you've become a full-on clown." He gave Joker a disapproving look and said, "Truly, you are somebody worthy of shame."

The Joker grabbed Hugo and said, "You're not a very friendly guy, are you? I'm going to have to give you a handshake, you strange excuse for a gentleman." She used an electric hand-buzzer, to shock Hugo. Hugo passed-out and fell to the ground. The Joker did an evil laugh.

Harley Quinn put her hand on the Joker's shoulder and asked, "What are you doing? I knew you wanted revenge and stuff like that, but this is getting too extreme. I thought we'd have some fun and do a few pranks, like break Hugo's trophies or something like that."

The Joker started dragging Hugo around, while saying, "Instead of breaking a few of his trophies, I might break his back." She laughed.

Harley Quinn replied, "Listen, you're my best friend. I think you're amazing, I really do, but you should reconsider the path you're taking."

The Joker frowned and said, "Harley, be on my side and follow me. If you do not, you don't truly support me or care about my cause."

Harley sighed and replied, "You know I care about me."

The Joker said, "Great, help me carry our stance principal. I have a special place, to take him to." She laughed, while putting Hugo in his car. Joker and Harley went into the car's front seats. Joker stole Hugo's car and started driving to the chemical plant.

Batman saw the Bat-Signal, so he reported to the police station's rooftop. Batman walked up to Commissioner Gordon and asked, "What's going on?"

Commissioner Gordon answered, "A school principal, named Hugo Strange, has been kidnapped. The thieves are rumored to look like clowns." Batman put his hand on his chin, while thinking about the situation.

A few minutes later, the Joker went to the chemical plant. She tied Hugo Strange to a chair and started getting her cruel prank ready. Harley Quinn walked up to her. Deep down, she was feeling scared, but she tried to hide that, by having a friendly smile on her face. She rested her head on the Joker's shoulder and asked, "Watcha up to?"

The Joker evilly smiled and said, "Our dear principal, Hugo Strange, thought it'd be funny, to let me rot in chemicals. Well, I'm always determined to top my opponents' pranks and that's what I intend on accomplishing. Instead of Hugo Strange going into one vat of chemicals, I rounded up ten vats of chemicals and mixed them into the biggest vat of them all. I'm going to throw Strange into the chemicals." She did an evil laugh.

Harley Quinn replied, "Jerry, I gotta put my foot down, when it comes to this."

The Joker frowned and responded, "I'm the Joker."

Harley Quinn said, "Joker, this isn't a prank. It's just cruel."

The Joker replied, "Dark humor is my favorite type of comedy. After-all, it was my bullies' favorite type of joke, so their inference affected me."

Harley Quinn said, "I'm always going to like and care about you, but I can't support this vicious excuse of a prank."

The Joker took a long pause, before saying, "I understand." She grabbed a mallet and used it to knock Harley to the ground. She had a regretful look on her face, while saying, "Harley, I also care about ya, but this prank must happen. Nothing will stop the Joker."

The Joker walked up to Hugo Strange. Hugo had a confused look on his face, while asking, "What's happening?"

The Joker said, "Strange, you're going to face the demise of comedy." She grabbed Hugo and held him near the chemicals. She said, "Thanks to you, I got to swim in chemicals. You're going to swim in a far bigger chemical, than I ever did." She grabbed Strange and tried to throw him into the chemicals, but Batman showed up and saved Hugo Strange.

The Joker had an annoyed look on her face, while saying, "When I needed to be saved, you did nothing. When my tormentor needs help, you swoop in."

Batman walked closer to the Joker, while replying, "I should of saved you. I wish I could of. I did fail you, but you failed the game of morality."

The Joker angrily replied, "I don't want to hear you ruin the game of comedy." She grabbed Batman and tried to push him into the chemicals, but he escaped her clutches. He punched and kicked her.

Hugo looked at the chaos and responded, "Fascinating turn of events. I wasn't expecting this to happen, but it's a sight to behold." The police came in and put handcuffs on Hugo. Hugo had a confused look on his face, while asking, "What's going on?"

Detective Harvey Bullock answered, "I did some digging around and found out you're the one, who robbed the chemical plant."

Hugo replied, "This is another unexpected moment for me. However, I'm not enjoying this little surprise."

The Joker stopped fighting Batman, to watch Hugo Strange get arrested. As much as she wanted to enjoy that moment, it felt like a hallow victory. She sighed and said, "I defeated another one of my bullies, but it hardly matters. Like always, I'm alone. Nobody cares about me and nobody loves me."

Harley Quinn got up and walked up to the Joker. She said, "I care about you. In fact, I love you."

The Joker looked guilty, while saying, "'m not worthy of your affection. I treated you terribly. I've been a lousy friend." A tear came down her face, while saying, "I'm so sorry. All this time, I felt like nobody valued you."

Harley Quinn replied, "I value you, always. I forgive you. Stop being my clown and be who you really are: The best girl I've ever known."

The Joker hugged Harley, while saying, "I love you. Love is an emotion I never thought I would feel, after all the pain I've been through." Deep down, Batman had often felt the same way. He felt sorrow for both of them.

Joker and Harley would have to be sent to an asylum, but they were okay with that, because they'd be together. Joker thought she was the clown princess of crime, but in reality, she was the sweet princess of Harley's heart.
