I don't own these characters, the brilliant J.K.Rowling does. Snaps for her.
Let It Go
Sometimes Harry wishes Draco would ask how his day had been. He would long for Draco to pat him reassuringly on the back, instead of punching him hard on the shoulder.
But in the quiet privacy of random empty classrooms, Draco would whisper nice things in Harry's ears. Things that you would want to be whispered in your ear.
But in front of people, the only things Draco said were mean. He didn't want to admit that he had fallen in love with The Boy Who Lived. He wasn't supposed to mingle with that kind. Stay with Crabbe and Goyle, and you were safe. Speak badly to Harry' face, and no one would know. No one would know that on weekends, Draco had feelings. A lot of feelings.
Harry was tired of the two-sided Draco. It wasn't much fun to hear the same excuses every night.
"If they found out I liked you, I'd never heard the end of it." Draco would say.
"Yeah, I know." Harry would answer. He didn't want to get Draco in trouble. He didn't want Draco to feel pain. So Harry would seem happy.
And he would let it go.
But he really wasn't fine with it. I mean, who would be? Having to hide your love for someone? Moving mountains would be easier. Harry would have to resist the urge to shout out Draco's name. He had to hold back the friendly looks he saved for Draco in the hallways, and instead, gave gloomy frowns. He wanted to sit with the blonde in the library and "study" with him instead of sneaking around abandoned classrooms in the middle of the night.
But he knew that could never be. Draco would die before that happened. And would you ever want your lover to feel horrible because of something you insisted? So they kept it hidden from the world, because otherwise, Draco said they would be chewed up, and that's not so good.
So the taunts would go on because Harry let them. He never shouted back at Draco; he would hope the Malfoy could catch on, and they would no longer have to hide from prying eyes. Harry would endure the yells and teases because he knew that Draco didn't really mean it. Harry acted happy, but it was sometimes hard not to notice the constant frown that had become so familiar to his face muscles.
He was happy with Draco, in the quiet of the time they shared; but he was not so happy with the circumstances. Still, Harry would endure the night because it gave him the stars.
"Sorry for the yells. I'll tell them one day, really, I will." Draco would say as he hugged Harry and kissed him.
"I know, I know." Harry would say back.
And he would let it go.

If you want, tell me what you thought. My friends liked it, but they might have just been nice. If it was worth your time, cool. If you are going to pretend you never read this, that's cool too. Review if you'd like, I'd like to hear opinions. Thanks!
