I can honestly say you've been on my mind
Since I woke up today, today
I look at your photograph all the time
These memories come back to life
And I don't mind
It had been three weeks since the Solar Blue surf-off, which was the last day of their time at Solar Blue. Now, Rachel sat in her room, flipping through her photo album, looking back at her fantastic, life changing year.
Her favourite photo in the whole album was a photo of her and Corey on the last day of the Solar Blue year.
Memories, happy memories, rushed through her head and a smile spread on her face.
I remember when we kissed
I still feel it on my lips
The time that you danced with me
With the music playing
On the last day there, they had a dance there. The pair had their arms wrapped around each other as they swayed slowly to the music. Neither of them had won the Solar Blue competition, and they were immensely disappointed by that.
But just looking at each other made them forget about their angst and just focus on the two of them.
I remember the simple things
I remember 'til I cry
But the one thing I wish I'd forget
The memory I wanna forget
Is goodbye
When Rachel had got home after the surf-off, she cried a lot. It was only a few hours after she left and she already missed Corey.
Something was between them the moment they both came to Solar Blue. It was kind of a meant-to-be type of thing.
They were opposites, but hey, you know what they say, opposites attract, and that was exactly what happened.
I woke up this morning
And played our song
And through my tears I sang along
Rachel plugged her iPod earphones into her ears and shuffled the songs. The first song that came on was her and Corey's "song", which was the candlelight mix of 'Heaven' by DJ Sammy.
Rachel loved that song, and when she played it for Corey, he loved it too.
I picked up the phone and then put it down
Cause I know I'm wasting my time
And I don't mind
As Rachel looked at her memories from Solar Blue, she looked over at her bedside table, and saw the home phone. Next to it was a green slip of paper with Corey's number on it.
She shuffled across her bed and picked up the phone.
But then she returned it to the bedside table.
I remember when we kissed
I still feel it on my lips
The time that you danced with me
With the music playing
I remember the simple things
I remember 'til I cry
But the one thing I wish I'd forget
The memory I wanna forget
Suddenly my cell phone's blowing up
With your ringtone
I hesitate but answer it anyway
You sound so alone
"Hello?" Rachel answered the phone. "Guess who?" replied the voice on the other end. "Corey?!" Rachel squealed. "I miss you so much, Rach. I wish you could be here" Corey said. Rachel felt the same. "I wish you could be here too. But hey, I'm always in my room, the phone's always next to me. Call anytime" Rachel reminded quietly. "Thanks" Corey replied.
And I'm surprised to hear you say
You remember when we kissed
You still feel it on your lips
That time that you danced with me
With the music playing
You remember the simple things
We talked 'til we cried
You said that your biggest regret
The one thing you wish I'd forget
The last day of the Solar Blue year was bad, but it was also good. The six teenagers exchanged phone numbers, email addresses and such.
As Corey was packing his bags in his room, Rachel walked up to him and tapped him on the shoulder. "So you're just going to leave without saying goodbye?" She teased with a smirk, and then she kissed Corey on the lips.
"You know I'd never do that" Corey said. Rachel and Corey shared a hug and then broke apart. "I'm going to miss you" said Rachel. "Same" Corey replied. "So I guess this is goodbye" Rachel said, pulling Corey into a hug.
Is saying goodbye
Saying goodbye
Goodbye
