A/N : Now I know Valetine's Day is nowhere near but I got this idea and I had to write it out and share it. I don't own Harry Potter.

Pink and Red decorated all around Hogwarts, but mostly the Great Hall. The occasion, Valentine's Day, and Hermione Granger was less than trilled. Sure she got some chocolate and other sweets but the idea of having couples attached to each other for the whole weekend made her not want to leave her room. Now Hermione wasn't against Valentine's Day but she just couldn't deal with the idea of Ron attached to Lavender Brown for the whole day. She still hadn't got over the fact that she'd only ever be one of his best friends.

But Hermione wasn't in Gryffindor for nothing, so against her instinct to lock herself in her room until the day was over she made her way to the Great Hall. She ignored all the couples she seen and walked into the Great Hall. She walked into the Great Hall but once she seen Ron and Lavender feeding each other her resolve disappeared and she turned to bolt when she felt someone wrap their arm around her waist.

"Sorry to keep you waiting, love." A male voice told her loudly. Hermione was about to tell him that she wasn't whoever he thought she was when he whispered in her ear. "Hermione come sit with me and way from the Weasel." The man stated before leading her to his table. Many looked up at them and stared. Ron was turning purple and looked as he did when he found out about her and Viktor Krum. Hermione glared at him as he had Lavender and she wasn't going to sit and be the rebound or last resort. Hermione then found herself sitting at the Slytherin table surrounded by Malfoy and his friends. They didn't look too keen on her sitting with them but welcomed her with good mornings anyways. "Now love eat up as I have somewhere I'd like to take you on a date." Then he paused. "You'll be my Valentine right?" He asked in an uncertain voice. Hermione raised an eyebrow before turning to look at the man who had saved her from running back to her room and locking the door, or strangling both Ron and Lavender.

"Of course I will." Hermione replied and was rewarded by a kiss on her lips.

"Good because I wouldn't of taken no for an answer anyways. Not that I thought you'd say no to me" He told her before stealing another kiss.

"Can you get anymore arrogant Pucey?" Hermione joked. Adrian grinned and pulled her closer.

"Nah I think that is the extent of my arrogance." He shot back playfully earning him a laugh and another kiss. Maybe she didn't need Ron anyways.
