OK this here is a story about…well u'll soon c. Disclaimer: not mine not mine all that's mine is me & maybe Elariel, I dunno. Who cares?...maybe the plot idea? Maybe not…o sorry rambling again here we go:

Elariel watched the company setting up camp through a gap in the dark leaves of the tree she was hiding in. She had been following the two men, four hobbits, dwarf & elf for the several days it had been since they had left Rivendell. They made camp for the night in a small clearing in the forest by a pool of cold, clear spring-water.

Elariel was an elf of Rivendell. She was (by elven standards, if not by human's) in the later part of her adolescent years. She had the long, dark hair that was common in Rivendell & big, dark, green eyes. Her skin was pale normally but now had a touch of sunburn from her trek. She was of average height & average size, or was before the trek started; she had lost a bit of weight from the scarcity of food in her travels. As to why she was following the Fellowship, she wasn't quite sure why …maybe it was a hunch, a premonition, or something else, even she doesn't know. All that is known is that she did.

Therefore, that is why she was sitting up in a tree on a cold dark night trying desperately not to nod off & fall down off the branch onto the ground below. Not in her big, soft warm bed in her cozy room in Rivendell…

"Oh, what I wouldn't give for a mug of cider & a bubble bath, I must be insane wandering around out here!" she thought angrily. "But, here I am. What does that mean?"

She watched wearily as the group below went to sleep, leaving the elf, Legolas she thought she had heard him called, on watch. "Lucky little devils! I'd looove to go to sleep. However, I am far to busy sitting in a tree for no particular reason at all, sane people things like sleeping, eating & bathing shall have to wait," She pouted. For about four hours she watched the moon as it slowly crept across the sky until her eyelids gradually started to droop. "Mustnotsleep must not sleep must not…sleep…muf …nop…speev…" her eyes shut, her head nodded, and…THUMP!!!

*********

Legolas whipped his head around as he heard a sound by the edge of the forest. Quick as thought, he nocked an arrow to his longbow & pointed it towards the sound, watching carefully for any movement. When nothing stirred after several minutes, he cautiously, but with the graceful, fluid movements that are the nature of elves, moved towards the spot where he had heard the sound…
