Lady Of The Wilderness
It was a mild day in Waycross of 2013 but my spirits were low. My Aunt had gone missing after a mysterious accident leaving no trace of what might happened to her. I went out on the porch to sit as I often do when I saw what appeared to me a homeless woman picking though our garbage. I got closer and eyed her suspiciously. Under the matted brown hair and dirt smeared face there was something. I couldn't help feeling as though she and I had met.
"Excuse me ma'am are you ok?" I asked approaching with caution.
"It me Angel." The woman uttered. I quickly helped her into the house, IN the pale light I could see the thin frail thin frame that was concealed beneath the layer of ragged fabric she wore complete with a bulbous belly. I also noticed the irrepressible stench that lingered around her given that fact that dirt and grim every inch of her body. She needed a bath. While didn't know how she would react, I assumed she would be thankful for the cleaning.
"I'm gonna to run a bath for you real quick." I said stepping away carefully.
"Water bad!" She exclaimed jumping with a fight.
"This won't I promise." I said calmly. As I helped her clean herself I saw her true form come together. As we scrubbed the dirt away revealing her features I noticed her familiar marks and tattoos. Her face though sunken was the one I knew. It was Melanie.
"Aunt Mel is it really you?" I asked.
"Yes Angel, it me." She sputtered weakly. I couldn't believe it. Mel was alive. While she was worse for wear it was my aunt. I was ecstatic. She'd returned
"Ok you're clean now. But what do we do now?" I asked.
"Want see Scarlet." She said sadly.
"That's a great Idea. She misses you." I said.
"We gi now please." She asked happily.
