Kanaya saw her a lot. She knew her name, her friends, and her reading preferences, but she's never actually spoken to her. She was in the library during lunch, in the desk in front of her during English, or walking with her friends in the hallway. Kanaya saw Rose Lalonde a lot. It was honestly no secret that Kanaya had a small crush on the blonde. In fact several of her friends have encouraged her to introduce herself.
"Just talk to her!" Feferi said. The two of them had the same lunch period and ate together. "If you don't and you keep staring at her things are going to seem… fishy." She grinned widely at her own joke.
"Funny." Kanaya continued to eat her lunch while Feferi talked to her friends. It was always easier to give advice about a crush than to take and act on it. Sometime during an argument over the best ship in whatever book Nepeta and Karkat were reading, Kanaya zoned out.
Rose Lalonde was a few tables down from Kanaya and her friends. She was currently talking with Jade Harley, John Egbert, and Dave Strider. With about fifteen minutes of lunch left Rose threw away her lunch and made her way to the library.
In a sudden burst of courage, Kanaya followed. She made a quite excuse to whoever was listening and got up. In the back table in the corner of the library she saw Rose. Kanaya sat in the chair in front of her placing her bag under her chair. Before Kanaya could introduce herself Rose glanced up from her book and smiled.
"Hello, Kanaya."
