His gold orbs stared off into the many stars of the night sky, silver locks blowing about with the soft breeze. His large hand was snug into her black hair, slowly brushing out the small tangles and knots from her jewel-hunting adventures with his half-brother and their comrades.

Kagome snuggled her face into his long, fluffy sash, and sighed quietly as her eyes stayed glued shut, seemingly at a quiet slumber. Sesshōmaru had found the human girl perched up on a rock, and he had decided to join her, like he always did (though her comrades never knew of this), and she would always curl up against him and doze off. The great demon found her company to be opposite of lonesome, as he usually felt. She'd mumble and ask petty, insignificant questions that at times, were too obvious to answer. Although he only spoke to her to give her dichotomous answers, or to order her to sleep, Kagome was more than welcome to have him near her. Unlike Inuyasha, he wasn't a hot-headed, nor arrogant, and Sesshōmaru gave her a certain admiration for him.

"Mn…" she hummed as he moved positions a bit. He was trying to get up. Her tiny hands balled up his sash, shaking her head lazily. "Don't leave yet…" Kagome avoided his piercing eyes as she spoke. "Please, stay a bit longer?"

"Hn." Sesshōmaru gently plopped back down onto the large rock, giving her no signs of him moving away soon. Content with this, she curled up once again on his lap, her soft lips curving the smallest of smiles as she hid her face into his sash.

"Thank you, Sesshōmaru," Kagome whispered, finally peeking up to see him.

His face was back up to the stars, hand once again brushing through her black hair. This odd human, from a different timeline, was interesting… His arms pulled her even closer, as if not wanting to let go.

The feeling was mutual.

Sesshōmaru didn't reply, other than a small "hm," and simply let his eyes scan onto the starry sky. The dog demon was actually glad she had told him to stay, it told him that she wanted him near even longer. "Sleep, Kagome," he addressed her by her name in a polite manner. "I will be here when you awaken."

He didn't seem to hear a reply, but he knew she got the message when her arms looped around his torso, and sighed in content.
