Summary: Why can't Sting just leave Natsu alone? Modern/AU
Scorn (Rated M)
Natsu froze mid-step as he left the school grounds. His friends were already gone and here he was, in the same situation he was every single day after school: facing Sting Eucliffe's unwavering determination.
"Hey, Natsu," Sting said as he sauntered up to him with a resolute smirk on his face.
"I thought I told you to leave me alone," the pinkette replied, trying to keep as wide a distance as possible from the teen.
"Come on. I know you didn't really mean that," he said, inching closer to Natsu again. "So why don't you just stop playing hard to get and go out with me already."
"I have a boyfriend!" Natsu snapped. "I keep telling you that, and you don't listen! Just leave me alone!"
Sting narrowed his eyes in anger, not used to being talked to in such a way. No one turned him down. No one.
Approaching Natsu swiftly, Sting grabbed him around the waist and yanked him forward, leaving no space between them. Sting intended to show the pinkette that he wanted him, but he didn't have the chance. Before he could do anything, Natsu shoved him away as if he were nothing.
"Leave me the fuck alone," he ground out, his eyes blazing.
Fury filled eyes met his as they stared each other down. "Who the fuck could your boyfriend possibly be for you to turn me down?" Sting hissed.
"Is there a problem here?"
They both turned around to see Gray moving toward them. Relief washed over Natsu as he saw him.
"Not that it's any of your business, but I was speaking with Natsu," Sting spat toward Gray.
"Oh, it is my business," Gray stated, nearly nose to nose with Sting, "when you're harassing my boyfriend."
"What?" Sting paled slightly. Natsu had been telling the truth! He did have a boyfriend! But Fullbuster?
"Let's go," quipped Gray, guiding Natsu away from the other teen.
As Sting watched them leave, anger bubbled inside him once more. How dare they dismiss him so easily? "He probably wasn't that good of a fuck anyway," he shouted, wanting to have the last word.
Natsu gulped slightly when Gray stopped and tensed. This was going to get bad. Really bad.
"What did you say?" inquired Gray coldly as he turned around to face Sting.
"Just take your two-cent whore and get out of here."
Natsu cringed when Gray's fist suddenly swung and collided with the side of Sting's head, sending him to the ground. And on the ground he stayed; he wasn't moving.
"OH MY GOD! YOU KILLED HIM!"
Gray turned on his heel and beckoned for the pinkette to follow him.
"We can't go!" Natsu protested as he rushed over to Sting's still form. Was he even breathing?
"He's not dead," Gray insisted.
"How can you be so sure? And calm? You only hit him once and he's not moving!"
"Trust me. I know what a dead body looks like. He's not dead. Just…incapacitated for the time being."
Natsu stared at his boyfriend incredulously. "You're all kinds of creepy right now, you know that, right?"
"Whatever. We have a date. Now are you coming, or do I have to drag you away?"
"I'm coming," said the pinkette, jogging to catch up with his boyfriend, who'd already started walking away. "Um…how do you know what a dead body looks like, anyway?
