A beautiful day in Tokyo

It was a beautiful, sunny day, as Kagome awoke to the sound of her mother in the kitchen. She heard the clanking of pots and pans, as she slipped out of bed, and placed her pale feet on the floor. The carpet in her room felt cold under her, compared to her warm, comfy bed.

"Hey mom..." The girl said, rubbing her eyes, tiredly.

"Oh! Hey dear! Did I wake you?" Her mother asked, watching her daughter stretch, and let out a yawn.

Kagome nodded, walking to the fridge, and reaching in for the jug of orange juice. "Yeah, but its okay. I needed to wake up, anyway. What smells so good?" The black haired girl asked, a sweet aroma embracing her.

"Oh! I'm making cookies for tonight! You know, Kagome. It really disappoints me that you won't be here for New Year's Eve. Are you sure you can't get Inuyasha to come here for it? You spent Christmas in the feudal era. I'm sure he won't mind if you spend some time with your family!" The woman stated, sliding out a tray of cookies out of the oven.

Kagome couldn't help but stare at the cookies. They looked so good, and all she could smell was the melted chocolate baked into them. Kagome stopped for a moment, and thought. She figured her mom was right, and that Inuyasha did owe her. She had spent Christmas with him, and away from her family. The priestess sighed, as she sat at the kitchen table, after had pouring her juice. She took a small sip, as she rested her head on the table. Finally, the girl lifted her head, and turned to her mom. "You know, mom, you're right! I gave up time with you guys on Christmas to spend with that ego-maniac! I should be able to spend New Year's here with you guys!" The teen stated, standing to her feet, and rushing into her bedroom to change. After a few minutes, the girl emerged, wearing her school uniform.

"Off so soon?" Her mother asked.

"Yeah! I'm going to get to the feudal era early, so I can spend some time with Inuyasha, Sango, and Miroku, so I can come back here for New Year's!" The teen chirped out. The black haired girl flashed her mom a smile, as she gave her a hug, and flew out the door, heading for the shrine next to the house. Once she reached the shrine, she opened the door, to find Inuyasha sitting on the well, his head rested on his hadn, studying the walls of the small building. "Inuyasha! What are you doing here so early?!"

Inuyasha looked up at the girl, a sour look playing on his face. "I got bored. I decided to bug you here, but, once I got here, I heard you talking to your mom, and, I decided to wait for you. So, you want me to spend New Year's here?"

Kagome furrowed a brow. "You listened to our conversation? Well, anyway, yes. I would appreciate it, if you spent some time in my era, since I missed Christmas with my family! I think you should make a sacrifice for me for once!" The girl shouted, squinting her eyes, expecting Inuyasha to yell back at her.

Inuyasha looked thoughful for a moment. "All right."

Kagome opened her mouth to respond to his answer, and then stopped short, not getting the answer she expected. "Okay!" She answered finally, nodding her head, as if to show that she expected for him to submit to her.

"Can we go now?" Inuyasha asked, frustration dripping from her voice.

Kagome nodded her head, as they both climbed into the well, having no clue what awaited them on the other side...
