In a peaceful town called Poodle Pad town, there was one holiday that everyone loved to celebrate, but was scared of also. This holiday was Halloween. Every Halloween the pumpkin man would take someone▓s soul and store it in a normal pumpkin and brings all the pumpkins full of souls down to the underground jack o▓ lantern house. Nobody has ever been down in the jack o▓ lantern house except for the pumpkin man and the people of the town would like to keep it that way for as long as possible. No one knew why the pumpkin man only strikes on Halloween but he does. Next week on Monday was October 31. As people crowded stores almost all day shopping for Halloween costumes they did not choose anything, to scary that might lead the pumpkin man to come this year. The town people tried their hardest every single year to attempt to prevent the pumpkin man from coming to town this Halloween. Every year on October 27, they come together for a meeting to decide this year▓s plan.

On October 27 the town▓s people got together and thought of a plan. They thought very hard this year.

⌠I▓ve got the perfect plan. How about we do not celebrate Halloween this year and see what happens. I think it will work. Who agrees?■ one man said. Mostly everyone agreed with the man. This plan could not be tested there was no practicing of what will happen. What ever happens that night happens. As soon as the word spread about the plan people started to sell their costumes to other people from other towns that did not have to deal with the pumpkin man. By the time everyone sold his or her costumes it was the day before Halloween. People suddenly started to doubt this plan but there was no time to think of a new plan they had no choice but to stick with this one. The next day on Halloween, school was reopened and the kids had a full day of school. The only thing they did all day was sit in the auditorium and play Nintendo DS or go to sleep. After school when everyone left, and took the buses home to watch the annual Halloween parade tonight at five(pm). Meanwhile, at the jack o▓ lantern house the pumpkin man was sitting there waiting for the people to step outside.

⌠ Why aren▓t they out yet? They should be out there trick or treating by now. What is wrong is it not October 31st? ⌠ the pumpkin man thought to himself. So far their plan was working. He was becoming very impatient and decided to leave forever . But, the people of the town didn▓t know he left and ever since then every Halloween was silent.
