A/N: Since I'll probably be late on that New Year's fic, I decided to get this short little drabble thing up. Always remember to review! Be it good, bad, or stating you like cheese.

Disclaimer: Hoshino-sensei is the rightful owner of D. Gray-man. If I owned even a page of it, I'd be busy blowing that 10 cents on a piece of candy, or something.

Warnings: One-sided KandaAllen, character death.

Summary: Kanda had been searching for that one person. He found him. Drabble.

Kanda breathed heavily in the clutches of the level three akuma. The man had already suffered severe injuries, bleeding profoundly. His Mugen was clear on the other side of the room. He watched his companions, Allen and Ravi, fighting other monsters as they tried to make their way to him. With every moment he was losing breath, and with every moment he knew he would die.

"So, Exorcist, how does it feel to be the one to die?"

"…Would you like to be the one to find out?"

The akuma laughed, holding the Exorcist tighter by his neck. Kanda raised his hands and tried to pry off what was blocking his breathing, but to no avail. "You have no power left to even try!"

"Let go of him!" A rather large arm slashed through the body of the akuma, and Kanda fell to the ground. Allen ran up to him, trying to keep the other alive. "Kanda, you can't die! You can't!"

Kanda turned his head to look at Allen's face. The boy was crying, his eyes clenched shut. 'Poor kid…He's gone through a lot…The last thing he needs is somebody else dying on him.'

When more akuma showed up, Allen cursed to himself and went to help Ravi again. Kanda was left leaning against a wall, watching once more as the other Exorcists fought. 'So I guess it does end this way…' He closed his eyes, only hearing the sounds of killing.

Allen preceded to shake the injured man gently. "Kanda…? Wake up…"

Kanda slowly opened his eyes, looking very pale. "Hey, bean sprout… Thanks." He gave his first, and last, smile to the boy, and with that he knew the last petal on the lotus flower had fallen off. 'Before I died, I found the one I was searching for… I found you, Allen Walker.'

A/N: T-T I dunno what possessed me to write this, but I'm so sad! I don't want Kanda to die in the series; what would Allen do without him!?

So yeah. I'm not actually sure if Kanda found that person he was looking for yet, since I haven't read past issue eight, but this is my take on it. :3 Please review, I'll give you Kanda plushies! Or Allen plushies, if you'd rather.
