I can't remember the last time I saw Sean.
I placed a hand on the wall, feeling the carved lines in the otherwise smooth tile wall. Stories were told on these walls from before the time of the building's creation to the present, instilled in the hard surface to never be forgotten. Though it had many stories on it's walls, there was only ever one story I ever read- and I read it every day. Even now I still can't believe how things panned out back then, to get me where I am.
I don't deserve this, Jack, this is where you should stand to watch your glory.
I turned away to face the glass wall behind me, the sun was just about to set and I came here every day to watch it. It would be a crime to stop watching it's rise and fall, almost like a symbol of the life of our divine god- Jack. He came to power... and it was taken away from him, within hours, without regret. Cold blooded murder, I call it, just the feat of a coward who couldn't understand the power that Jack carried.
Fool, but he'll never see the light of day again. I'm weak because I couldn't kill him, but I'm not a monster after revenge.
I stood straight and tall, shoulders back. Not so long ago, none of this regal crap mattered to me, I wasn't the one who was going to have to be at the center of what seems like the whole world. I know it's just one country, but Trechute isn't my country to rule. It was Sean's, I had fine tuned him for it from the first day on. He had been prepared for it without realizing, he didn't even know nearly every challenge was a set up to pull him into shape to be the ruler this country needed.
Devine Jack wouldn't be hiding here in Yunohta, the capital, hiding from the outside in a glass tower because he can't put away his guilt. Afraid to miss a single dawn or dusk, reading over the same tale over and over and over again, until it's instilled in his soul.
