Confessions over Ramen-ing
They were all grown up and 20 years old. Chouji and Kira offered to help in kitchen hand as a community service as the owner have gone on a short trip to Suna Ga Kure (Sand Village) to expand their business. Naruto sat in between Hinata and Sakura at Ichiraku Ramen. Naruto braced himself for more bowls towering up as he mounted the last bowl for the day. He glanced at Hinata who was taking her sweet time slurping her Tonkatsu Ramen. It was her first and mainly her last.
"Hey Hinata, I think you should hurry up, It'll taste better if it's fused with the broth and the pork." Naruto encouraged her in a way. She blushed hoping for Naruto to leave her alone for a while. Chouji took the bowls from Naruto's end and started the dish washing.
"Do you know when Ichiraku is coming back Kiba?" Sakura asked.
"In two weeks time…. I quite enjoy this job. Who says ninja is the only job for us. It's good to live out off the head band for once. By the way shops gonna close in a few minutes for our lunch break but you guys are free to stay." Kiba announced.
"That's fine I have to meet Shizune for a General Practitioners' Scheme. See you later and thanks for lunch Naruto."
"W-what the-? Hey I paid last time!" Naruto was exclaimed.
Sakura sighed. "Alright here is 100 ryo for this time and next, I really gotta run".
"See you later Sakura…" Hinata mumbled. Though Sakura didn't hear it but Naruto heard it.
"You've gotta be louder." Naruto smiled and Hinata blushed again. "Whoa! I'm pretty thirsty!"
Naruto poured some water for both Hinata and himself by the counter which alleviated Hinata's cherry face and calmed her down.
"Kiba, you and Chouji sure make a great team! Tastes the same and I'm pretty sure Chouji added something quite remarkable as well."
"Cool, we're gonna go now and that's the nicest compliment from the hero of ninjas ever." Kiba said sarcastically.
"Last one for free Naruto!" Chouji said
Chouji placed another bowl of Miso Ramen unexpectedly in front of Naruto. "Huh ha, this will be great!" With that, Kiba and Chouji went for their break.
"Uh Naruto… after we eat could we…c-could w-we go for a walk and-"
"Itadakimasu! Did you say something Hinata?"
Hinata blushed again… Naruto shrugged and then started digging in to his 30th bowl for the day.
"You know, being a chunin isn't that bad. What is it like being a jounin?"
"I think it's… different but at the same time, it's not hard because our generation had experienced a lot…"
"You and I fought like crazy in the war, right Hinata? I'm just glad our village is back. Then Old Lady Tsunade is handing over her Hokageship to Kakashi." Naruto chuckled.
"I learnt how to be more… actually... now I think about it, Kakashi is continuing the Icha Icha series so he turned it down..." she blushed again.
"That means I get to be the Hokage!"
"Mmhmmm and there is something I want to say... i-is t-that..." Her tongue tied was constricting her. "Naruto…I-I… I love you!"
"AH!" Naruto shouted. It was only a dream.
"Hinata…loves me…? But it's only a dream, perhaps but I guess I can just find out today for RAAAHMEN! AGH! I want Ramen now" Naruto hugged his pillow and rolled on his back thinking about ramen, craving for Ramen.
