"Lucky" Lucy Heartfilia

Lucy Heartfilia stared out the window longing for the freedom to be who she truly was. Her long itchy pink dress felt like it was choking her and her neatly put up blonde hair made her want to mess it up. Lucy sighed as she thought of her future. Her prestigious businessman father, Jude Heartfilia, thought it was time for her to get married in order to expand the family's wealth. Lucy's hands clenched into fists as she thought about the argument they had night before. Desperate to stop the arranged marriage, Lucy blurted out that her mother would be furious if she knew what Jude was planning. Her father stopped in his tracks and, for a moment, Lucy thought she had won him over. The next moment, however, her father's eyes hardened and Lucy knew that she had lost. Bringing up her mother was a bad move. Lucy sat down on her freshly done bed as her head overloaded with thoughts of her mother. Layla Heartfilia. A name which brings both happiness and sadness to her heart. Memories of her mother came flooding into her mind all at once. Her mother was the one who kept her father balanced. Now he was overrun with thoughts of money and how to get his hands on more. Her mother kept the family together and in high spirits. Lucy touched her face and smiled. Lucy took on both looks and mentality from her mother. Lucy turned her head and spotted her celestial keys and smiled softly. Her mother had given her those keys and taught her how to use celestial magic. Lucy frowned as her dear maid told her that she was needed by her father. She stood up, her heart racing, and walked over to her closet as soon as her maid left. Packing up some of her things, she wondered where she was going to go. Changing out of her itchy dress, she decided she would become a wizard just like her mother was. Grabbing her keys, she hurried outside and began walking away from the Heartfilia Estate. She knew it would be tough but she couldn't stay and have her future decided for her. The only freedom she had was through writing but instead of wishing for something in her stories to happen, she had to make them happen. Turing around, she stared at what used to be her home. With one last look, she exited the gates and looked toward the horizon hoping her destiny would soon be changed.
