They were best friends. They had been ever since they met at school in fourth grade. But sometimes when teenage years hit.. no friendship is safe.

In study hall, sixth period grade seven, a teenaged Dot and Jesse were lucky enough to sit next to each other. Dot never did work in there, and had her nose in a book. Suddenly a note flicked across her sentence.

Will you go out with me?

The note was tiny, and the words barely scribbled in. Dot raised an eyebrow, and held the note in her flipper.

"Jess, do you know who wrote this?" She asked when the teacher left the room.

He shrugged, "It could've been anyone. But.. I'm giving you three chances."

She recoginzed the handwriting. After all, Jesse did do her homework for her. To play along and act dumb, she wasted her first guess, but got it on the second try.

"Whoa." Jesse's red face turned redder, "Got it on the second try."

"Yeah.."

"So.. Will you?"

"Yes!"

That was the beginning. In the years to come, they'd be on and off, off and on. They would drift closer, briefly apart, become "siblings".. Dot would even have her first kiss with him during a movie.

However, no sparks flew. The relationship ended a few days later. They decided.. It wasn't meant to be. Dot briefly pretended to date him, to get another girl jealous. He returned the favor. Both relationships didn't work out.

Yet... Despite it all..

Dot never got over him. She loved him. He was her first kiss, her first lover, the first guy she ever cared about. She stared at Facebook. Typing a message, included with a song, she'd hope he'd get the message.

He did.

I feel the same way. I never stopped loving you. I actually promise not to break your heart.

The message was short.

She bursted into tears, and replied with a simple message.

Don't make a promise you can't keep.

This story is yet to see an end..

Replace Dot with me and Jetpack with my boy Stephen...

Every single word would describe our love life.
