in the light of the sun
is there anyone ?

He never expected to fall so hard for her. What did she have that other girls didn't?

(Did it matter now?)

All he ever wanted was to imprint. And he tried. So very hard.

(But it never worked.)

So he turned to the only other wolf that tried maybe as hard as him.

(But she rejected him.)

So then he tried harder.

(And harder.)

Until she finally let him in, if only slightly.

(The smile on his face blinded her.)

They ran together.

(She always ran faster, but it never bothered him.)

They laughed together.

(Her smile was radiant.)

They were the soul mates fate refused to provide for them.

(Or so he thought.)

She never really did fall for him completely.

(He tried to convince himself that, if only to hide the hurt.)

Not as much as he did, anyway.

(And oh, did he fall very hard.)

It was a Friday.

(Bloody day.)

She came crying home.

(He ran towards her.)

She pushed him away.

(Did she notice his pained face?)

His heart beat faster as she spoke.

(And this time for a different reason.)

"We're through."

(That's all she had to say for his heart to break in two.)

"W-what?"

(Stuttering.)

"It's over, Embry."

(His heart was now in four.)

"Why?"

(Anger started to build up inside him.)

She looked up with her dark eyes.

(He felt dazed.)

"I imprinted."

(Funny how two words ruin so much.)

He shattered. He shook his head.

(It was impossible.)

"No way."

(She sobbed.)

He was speechless.

(But then again, what did he have to say?)

She turned around.

(She couldn't leave him!)

He grabbed her arm and crushed her to him.

(She struggled halfheartedly.)

"No, Leah, say it's not true."

(His words were only above a whisper.)

Leah pushed him away and yelled.

(His ears hurt later.)

"I knew I should have never—"

(She's cut off by a gasp.)

He didn't believe what he did.

(But he wasn't thinking.)

Her eyes were dark and looking up at him, mouth open wide.

(The blood was coming out.)

He held the object in his hands.

(His eyes were his worst weapon now.)

Leah looked down, then back at him.

(And she only speaks one word.)

"Why?"

(The tears in her eyes managed to roll down.)

He shuddered.

(Why?)

"Because."

(He spit this.)

Leah couldn't speak anymore.

(He knelt down to her level.)

"If I can't have you, no one can."

(His words held an edge.)

And she died.

(In his arms.)

With him.

(Like it was supposed to be.)

Now he looks around.

(It's a prison.)

It's too white.

(Never his favorite color.)

They think he's crazy.

(But he isn't.)

He's in love.

(And will always be.)

He looks to his right.

(He smiles brightly.)

There she is.

(And she always is.)

She blows him a kiss.

(And she disappears.)

He's not crazy.

(Only for her.)

Leah's not dead.

(Not in that sense.)

She's here.

(Always here.)

Not buried in the ground.

(Not ashes in some urn.)

But here.

(Only here.)

Where she is supposed to be.

(Forever and ever and ever.)
