For The Love of A Lady Knight
Owen sighed as he went back to his room. Slightly slamming the door behind them he flopped himself on his bed. He stared at the ceiling with a frown on his usually happy face. To an onlooker the frown would look very odd. He ran a hand through his curly brown hair and gave another slightly depressed sigh. "Why Cleon?" he asked himself aloud. "What's better about him?" It was common knowledge between the small group that Cleon liked Kel and Kel like Cleon. That didn't mean he had to agree with it. It was also common knowledge between the group (excluding the two love- birds) that Owen liked Kel.
"Okay I probably don't look as handsome, and a little more hyper, and I don't call Kel all those flowery names nut still. I'm just as good as him." He frowned again and went over to his desk pulling out his math homework. 'Kel likes Arithmetic' he thought. He groaned and put his hands in his face. If this didn't stop he would go insane. He would have to tell her. He sighed and looked out of his small window seeing some of Kel's sparrows fly into a tree in the courtyard.
He knew that Kel was the last squire left and that now would be the best time to talk to her. He took a deep breath and walked out of his room heading toward the courtyard. It was where she had been spending most of her time, training with Peachblossom or her glaive.
When he got there he only saw one figure. Really the only one crazy enough to be up this early in the morning training. He gulped and kept walking towards her. When he got to the fence that separated the viewers and the training he leaned against it as usual when he watched Kel.
By now, Kel had stopped her practicing and gave Owen a smile and a nod. At the smile Owen could have sworn his heart would bust. "Hello Kel." Owen said with a hint of nervousness. "How are you doing on a beautiful day like today?" Kel raised an eyebrow. "Owen, It is snowy and windy and your saying it's beautiful?" Owen gave a nervous smile and whispered under his breath "Any day with you in it is beautiful." His eyes grew wide and he smacked a hand over his mouth. Kel was close enough to hear what he had said and has a surprised look on her face.
"What did you just say Owen?" She asked him, her voice quivered a little, barely noticeable. Owen sighed this was not how he had planned it. He bit his lip for a second then said, "Kel, I like you and I have liked you more than a friend for a while now. I know you probably would choose Cleon over me any day but I wanted to tell you before you left." He exhaled then turned around slowly when Kel didn't say anything.
He was halfway back to the castle when he felt someone hug him around the waist. His eyes widened and he just stared at Kel. She quickly jumped away from him and gave a small blush. This was a little out of character for the Yammani Northern girl for a second and a smile crept onto his face. "So does this mean?" Owen left the sentence hanging. Kel nodded and Owen let out a whoop of joy. Kel grinned at the boy's happiness and chuckled.
Ok that was just a quick one shot. I am a terrible Kel writer and I know she is probably OOC
