Disclaimer: I don't own these characters, so please don't sue me. If you want to, all I have is my lunch money and my Algebra book, so it's really not much. Then again high school freshman aren't known for having immense amounts of money.

[A/N: This is just an idea that popped into my head. It's really short and not very good, but, let me know what you think, how I can improve it, where I should go with it from her, or anything else.]

Ephram sat down on the hard, cold wood of the park bench. It was really late maybe one or two in the morning. He had left his house hours ago, and was just wondering around town. He had to get out of his house. He had to think. Delia kept bothering him, his dad was nagging him, Sam was over, and the CD player was just too tempting. He had to think about Amy. They had been getting closer, and just like before, Amy left as soon as they made a connection. He was starting to get sick of it. But it made him wonder, what always made her go running.

"Hey, Amy, can you hear me? No, of course you can't. I wish you could though. You, are the best thing that every happened to me. If I didn't have you, I'd be back in New York, miserable. You keep me sane. Did you know that? You're more a part of me than anyone else ever has been. I wish you knew this stuff, but you don't. I love you, Amy. I love everything about you. You are the only person in this hellhole that understands me. You get me. And I know that none of this will matter, at all, to you. You won't care. Then again, you'll never hear this. But, if you do you should know, that when all is said and done, it's me that will be there. I'll be there through good, bad, happy, sad, love, loss, new boyfriends, first jobs, first times, dance recitals, and everything else. And through it all, I'll still love you. I'll you for the things you do right, but I'll also love you for you're imperfections. Aside from your family, I'm the only one in this world that will be able to do that for you. So even though you can't hear me, just know, that I love you."

When Ephram was silent again, he could hear someone sobbing behind him. He stood up to see who it was, but when he turned around, all he saw was a retreating, blonde head. He knew who it was, without having to see the face.

"Amy! Amy wait!" he called after her. She stopped and very slowly turned to face him.

"Ephram I... I'm... I'm so sorry," she sobbed.

"How much of that did you hear?"

"All of it."

"Oh..."

"Ephram it was beautiful. I mean I... it was just... I couldn't believe it."

"It doesn't matter though. You don't feel the same way. You don't love me back. I'll watch from the sidelines, and when life tries to break you, I'll come in, pick up the pieces and put you back together."

Amy then reached up and put one slender finger to his lips, to silence him.

"What?" he asked, from under her finger.

"Just, be quiet," she said with a slight laugh.

Then in one smooth movement she replaced her finger with her lips. This was the kiss, both knew, they would never forget. In time other kisses would meld, or be mistaken, or forgotten altogether. But this one was different. It would always stand out in their minds.

[A/N: Okay, that's it. Please, please review. Like I said in my other note, I need some help here.]
