So, a while ago I read an all human Edward/Bella story. It took place back in the 1900s, and I remember Charlie really disapproving that Bella hung around Edward and Alice. The last thing I can really, really remember reading, was that Bella has asked Edward to spend the night in her room / her house, and he was really uncomfortable doing it. They almost kissed, I think, too.
