"Marco!"
Marco rushed over, hearing Star's upset call.
"What's wrong, Star?" He asked.
"This!" She held up a stick with two small lines on it.
Marco examined it closely. He was sure he's seen those things before, when he was a child, but he never actually asked what they are. He shook his head before before giving it up. I don't really understand..."
Star rolled her eyes. "It means I'm pregnant!"
"Oh... Pre— WHAT?!" He exclaimed in shock. "How can this thing tell you for sure?!"
"It's a home pregnancy test. It uses a woman's urine to determine if she's pregnant or not. (Marco frowned when he realized he was holding something that's been inserted in urine) Since there are those two lines, it means I'm pregnant," she explained.
"Are... Are you sure?" He repeated.
"Yeah. I took three other tests as well," Star replied, handing him three other sticks with the same result.
"So... What now?" Marco asked.
"Now... I don't know." Star admitted.
"Here, let's go sit down while we discuss this." He offered her to sit down at their bed, while Star fiddled with one of the sticks.
"Okay, look, first, we should keep it." Star said first. "I mean, I know it's really hard with our duties as the ruler of Mewni, but I can't... Stand the thought of aborting it or giving it away to some strangers, and I—"
"Hey, Star, calm down. I can't stand the thought too, and we should definitely keep it. But whatever you do, I'll always be with you, okay?" Marco reassured. "I promise."
"Thanks, Marco." Star smiled. "But... I don't know if I can be a mother or not." She said.
"I don't have any idea either," Marco smiled. "But I don't think I could find one better than you."
Star hugged him. "Me too, Marco. Now go make me some nachos."
"Okay."
