"Hi Dawn!"

"Who are you?" Dawn replied, a little puzzled and slightly repulsed. "Or should I say, *what* are you?"

The little creature seemed slightly offended by her tone of voice.

"I, young human, am your new minion," he replied. "I was sent by a friend of yours to be your loyal servant."

"You've got to be kidding me, right? First, I don't really have any friends, unless you count my sister's, and, I don't. And second, why would I want a minion that looks like an animated stuffed animal. What could you possibly do for me?"

* * * * *

"Spike, I should go. I promised Dawn after the big birthday debacle that I would spend more time with her."

"It's a'right luv. I think I've got a plan," Spike replied and looking quite pleased with himself.

"And, we know how successful *those* usually turn out," Buffy said with a smirk.

"Very funny, slayer. Do I make fun of your *oh so successful* track record with plans?" said Spike, trading his usual slayer inspired barbs.

"What, me? Some of my plans have been very successful," replied Buffy with her usual pout. "Any way, why don't you just tell me about this great little plan of yours to help my sister so I can go stop the disaster before it starts."

"Well, remember awhile back when Dawn went missing with Willow and I mentioned you should get a Lojack for her? Well, I did."

The look on Buffy's face was a blend of confusion and amusement. "You got my sister an anti-theft device? Great plan."

Spike looked a little hurt by her dismissal of his idea but then realized why she was confused. "I didn't get her one of those car gadgets. I got her a Lojack *demon*."

"You got my sister a demon and you thought I would be okay with that? What were you thinking? We have to go and see if she's okay." Buffy started grabbing her jacket and weapons bag and rushed to the door.

"Buffy, do you really think after all this I would ever do anything to put Dawn in danger? I'm just trying to help. A Lojack is harmless." He tried to block her way out the door.

"And I'm supposed to take your word on this why?" Causing another hurt look to come across his expressive face. She just hated that kicked puppy look. And if she was honest, hated the fact she was the one that usually put it there.

"Anyway Spike, that's not the point. You should have told me and talked it over first."

"You say that as if you would have actually listened to something I had to say."

"Well, now we'll never know, will we Spike?" and she tried to open the door and he stopped her again.

"Wait a minute, slayer. Let's just give this a shot. Have a seat and we'll talk this through. Since Dawn is involved, maybe you'll just sit there and let me explain."

"You're sure Dawn's not in any danger?"

"Positive. If she was, the Lojack would pop in here and let me know."
