I witnessed the assasination of JarJar Binks. The Gungan never even saw it coming. The poor sucker. The senate was humming with hundreds of voices, from human to Twi'ilek, and everything in between. JarJar sat in his little floating platform with a couple others from his planet, including the new Queen of Naboo. He talked with them, though I never heard his words. He had a few close calls with death in the past, but he had never known about them. Since the Naboo creature had become a senator, I've heard stories about his demeanor changing completely, and that he went from a clumsy outcast to a solemn and mature member of the government. Not that I really cared, though. All I knew was that he was annoying as fuck.
JarJar took a step back on the platform, swatting at an insect flying around his head. His eyes widened, as he stepped too far back and just about fell off the edge. Idiot. It would have been a far fall, and he probably wouldn't have survived the landing. But that's not what took him. The white faced queen grabbed for the Gungan's hand and pulled him back onto the platform with all the strength the young lady had. JarJar wiped his brow in relief, then squeezed the queen's hand tightly. Thank you, he mouthed. Meesa just about fell off! The queen puts a hand on JarJar's shoulder, then turns away to respond to another senator. JarJar steps away from the queen and breathes a heavy sigh. I guess that moment was the perfect oppertunity for the sniper.
The shot of a blaster rang out, and instantly, a collective scream filled the whole building. Everyone looked around, desperately trying to find the source of the shot. JarJar screamed something I couldn't quite make out, and put a hand on his head. He crumpled like a paper doll, and fell to the young queen's feet. She clapped her hands over her mouth and knelt down to try and help him. She placed a hand on her forehead. It was obvious that she couldn't do anything. JarJar Binks was gone.
The deed had been done. I put my blaster back in its holster and make my getaway. Boba, you have really outdone yourself this time! I guess I wasn't just a witness.
