Walking over the Lincoln Center Plaza, he already caught sight of the guy he was looking for. 'Kyle?' he asked, friendly placing his hand on his shoulder. 'Ephram, how are you doing?' Kyle asked, turning round to face Ephram. 'How are you doing? How's Juilliard?' Ephram queried, smiling. 'Everything is working pretty well but I'd have never made it that far without you so I just need to thank you in every way, Ephram!' Kyle thanked, smiling friendly and looking squarely into Ephram's eyes. 'No need to. So, you're doing pretty well too, huh? Tell me, do you know Luciano's?' 'Of course, I actually do. My next class starts in twenty minutes so I still have time to show you.'
Walking through the busy New York streets, Ephram felt the cold air rushing through his hair and he realized New York still was like a home from home. He remembered his childhood, his mother and him playing on the playgrounds in Central Park and he wondered why he never had remembered these days before. 'Here it is, Luciano's. Not quiet cheap but still the most popular coffeehouse in West Side!' Kyle stated, pointing at a cozy-looking coffeehouse. 'Thank you, Kyle!' 'The last thing I could do but I have to go now. You gotta call me, okay?' Kyle said, turning round to leave. 'Sure, I call you. See you.' Ephram watched him disappearing in the crowd and then entered the coffeehouse and looked around to find his family. 'Ephram, we're over here!' Delia screamed, sitting down at one of the well-laid wooden tables. 'Ephram, you look so mature!' Grandma Ruth said softly, giving him a kiss on the cheek. 'So how has your meeting with Kyle been?' Andy asked friendly. 'I guess he's doing pretty well and Juilliard seems to be his life, he loves it.' 'I'm glad to hear the whole Juilliard thing is working that good.' 'Who's this guy, Kyle?' Grandpa Jacob asked, cutting short the conversation between Ephram and Andy. 'Kyle is one of Ephram's piano students,' Andy answered.
'Ms. Kellner!' Grandma Ruth said happily, seeing the waitress coming over to their table. 'Mrs. Hoffman, it's a nice day today, huh?' the waitress said, stopping beside their table. 'Madison!' Delia screamed, jumping into Madison's arms and wrapping her arms around her waist. 'Hey sweetheart, what are you doing here?' she said happily, smiling from ear to ear and squeezing her tightly. 'We're just over to visit Grandma and Grandpa Hoffman. How are you doing?' 'I'm just fine but how are you doing? You looks like a young woman now, really cool!' 'Madison, you're…' Andy tried to speak but he was still puzzled and stared at her. 'Is it really you?' 'I guess so, nice to see you, Dr Brown and Ephram!' she said politely, trying to avoid eye contact with both of them. 'So what can I do for you?' 'The same than ever, Madison, the same than ever!' Jacob said softly, giving her an unusual nice smile. 'And you?' Madison asked, still smiling politely and looking at Delia, Andy and Ephram. 'A vanilla milkshake!' Delia said, smiling and leafing through the list of beverages. 'Just a glass of water!' Ephram stated, feeling really uncomfortable now. 'Me too!' Andy said. 'A vanilla milkshake, two glasses of water and two cups of Latte Macchiato, ok, I got it! Just give me five minutes!' Madison assumed, smiling and leaving. 'You know each other?' Ruth asked, staring at Delia, Ephram and Andy.
