Hold Me? I'm Scared.
"Are you sure?" Maya asked. Riley nodded. "Yes, I'm sure. There's no one I'd rather watch a scary movie with." She said, hugging her best friend's arm and cuddling into her. "If you say so." Maya said. Maya picked the movie Ouija and she and Riley watched it together. When the movie was over, Maya felt Riley tremble. She looked down at her innocent best friend and noticed her eyes were wide. "Riles?" Maya asked. "I'm okay..." Riley said. "Are you sure?" Maya asked. Riley nodded. "Let's just go to bed now, okay?" She asked Maya. "Sure." Maya replied. They went up to Riley's room and layed down in her bed. Maya fell asleep half an hour after lying down but Riley, still scared from the movie, was wide awake and trembling with fear. "M-Maya..." Riley stuttered out in a shaky voice. Maya didn't respond. Riley rolled onto her side so that she was face to face with the shorter blonde. "Maya?" Riley asked. Maya stirred a little. Riley reached out and grabbed Maya's shoulder gently. "Mm?" Maya let out. She opened her eyes slowly and looked at Riley. "Ugh, go to sleep, Riley." She said. "Mayaaaa..." Riley whined. "Rileyyyyy..." Maya mimicked. "But the movie-" Maya cut Riley off. "Was just a movie. Now go to sleep." She said. Maya then closed her eyes. Riley attempted to go to sleep but failed miserably. She thought she heard something and immediately sat up, eyes frantically looking around the room, terrified. "Maya... Maya!" Riley cried. Maya's eyes shot open and she sat up. "What now?" She asked. "I- I heard something." Riley replied. "Riles, there's nothing there. Just try and go to sleep, okay, honey?" Maya said sweetly. Riley nodded and they lied back down. "Maya?" Riley asked. "Yes, Riley?" Maya answered. "Hold me? I'm scared." Riley said in a voice that made Maya's heart break. "Of course." Maya told Riley. She opened her arms and Riley scooted closer to her, wrapping her arms around her body tightly until they were hugging and holding each other. "Thanks, peaches." Riley said with a smile. "You're welcome, kid." Maya replied also with a smile. Riley drifted off to sleep, safe in the arms of her best friend.
