A/N: Second fanfiction I've ever written..;;; D ..Don't be mean? Thanks for reading.
"Let's keep it a secret!" He remembered the words as clear as day in his head. And he'd agreed, with the simple coaxing of a few kisses trailing down his neck. 'Had he done it..' The Schemer looked down, 'because he knew..under other circumstances, I wouldn't have agreed?...Wasn't that the way with everything he does?'
Now that he had time to think about it, as Axel was not with him, he realized that was the pure truth. His sapphire eyes closed, and he let his mind wander.
He jumped quite a bit when he felt a body press against his own. By the shape, and the curves, he knew without opening his eyes that it none other than Axel. The redhead's ungloved hands ran through Zexion's sleek, nice hair. "Hey there, babe." Number Eight said huskily, mouth near Zexion's ear.
Zexion opened his eyes, turning his face to Axel's. "Axel.." He said softly. His lips brushed lightly against Axel's for a moment, before he looked away.
Axel had managed to catch a glimpse at the rather darkly thoughtful look on Zexion's face, and he lifted his body away, sitting on the edge of his bed. "...What's the matter?" He asked calmly, though inside his thoughts were going crazy. Scared. That's what he was. Scared about what Zexion was thinking, or what he was going to say. '...Does he..not..want to be with me anymore..?' He wondered, looking at him, before looking away, down at his hands, which were in his lap.
"...Keeping this...all..of this.. This whole relationship.. A secret.." He was cut off by Axel.
"Do you still love me? I just need to know.."
"...Yes. But.. We shouldn't be keeping this a secret, Axel.. It's wrong.."
"Zexion.."
"..No..Really. Don't you.. feel bad at all?"
"..Hm.." Axel shrugged slightly. "I..." He looked to the ground, frowning faintly. "...No, I don't feel bad. It's better to keep it this way, Zexion. If any of the others knew... If they knew.. They wouldn't let us.. They would never let us be together. You know?" He looked to the Cloaked Schemer, who looked close to crying. "..Don't.." Axel muttered softly, reaching out to lightly touch Zexion's shoulder. He shrugged, and the redhead's hand fell onto the bed.
"...Axel.. I.." Zexion shifted to the edge of the bed, before standing, heading to the door. He opened the door. "..This isn't going to work out, Axel. Sorry." He said.
Axel looked rather shocked. "...Zexion, stop fooling around! That's not funny!" He said, grinning at him.
"...Get out." He said seriously. He recieved a confused stare from Axel
"But Zexy...Baby..."
"No. Don't. Just go. We're..over.." He shook his hair, which thankfully was falling not just over one, but both eyes at that moment, hiding his tears as he stared at the ground. "Go."
Axel stood, moving to the door. He reached out to touch Zexion, who took a step away from Axel. "Don't 'baby' me, Axel." He looked up at Axel, not caring if Axel saw him crying. "Get out..Don't come back here.. Don't think that this will work out again. It won't." With that, he took a step back towards Axel, turning him, and pushing him out the door.
He turned as the door slammed behind him. His face was a pure expression of disbelief at what had just happened. Axel was so shocked he couldn't even cry over the loss he felt.
The words from his mouth were little more than a whisper. "..No..I don't want to say goodbye.."
