Homeward Angel
By SMYGO4EVA
Freedom: the price one has to pay either with sold innocence or broken wings a demon has cruelly damaged beyond compare.
Orihime Inoue paid the terrible price, but it was an honorable action. She let herself be prey so her beloved friends would be saved. But she would never see them ever again if she had run away; she would have been dead or worse, they were killed in front of her.
She yearned for freedom.
She dreamed of racing along the streams, lie on the soft grass and see the happy faces of her dear friends again, be with them always. Without them, she would be nothing. Absolutely nothing.
But she knew that the soul reaper, her friend, Ichigo, would come to rescue her from the arrancar. She knew with all her heart that he would.
She knew him well. Even when the hourglass lets the sands of time sink through the cracks, Ichigo would sacrifice his own life to protect the ones he held dear. Forever until the bitter end, he would protect.
Orihime prayed for their safety, prayed that they would be all right, and hoped that they would come somehow. She has words that she can't say, but wants to say to Ichigo, but all she can do now is wait for them. She has words that are feelings incarnate, but before her time has come, she will tell him, Ichigo, her homeward angel.
