Disclaimer: (insert joke about how I don't own Castle )

A/N: Cause I was trying to read but the scene wouldn't leave my head

"Kate..." his voice echoes trough her mind clouded of sleep. She shifts under the comforter seeking the warmth of her partner's body. She had a crappy day, he had stayed home to write today and he was still writing when she came to bed. She just needs to cuddle and sleep for a long time. Thank god, she has the next day off. She keeps searching blindly for him, not wanting to open her eyes. He's not there.

"Kate wake up." Were his voice is coming from? And why is the mattress shaking? She manages to open an eye and peek at the watch in her bedside table. 3:46. She sighs "Are you awake?" He sounds like he just found out Santa is real. "Kate?" And he's jumping on the mattress. Oh she's going to kill him. She prepares the best death glare she can make after being so abruptly woken up, and starts turning to face him.

"Castle do you have any idea…?" He's on his knees, on the end of the bed wearing a heavy coat up his pajamas, and holding one of her owns coats, and he's still jumping. She takes a deep breath. Ok, she knew what she was getting herself into when she agreed to marry him. And one of the risks of being in a relationship with Richard Castle is being awoken in the middle of the night for utterly ridiculous reasons. And sometimes very… pleasurable reasons. Anyway it's an occupational hazard. "Castle…" She's proud of how calm she sounds "What are you doing?" Even in the dark she can see when his eyes lit up.

"Its snowing!" He throws his arms in the air, as if he was presenting some kind of spectacle. "It's the first snow of the year" He throws her coat "Dress up, we have to go!"

"Go!? Where!?"

"To see the snow!" He says as if it was the most obvious thing in the world.

"What!? No!" He craws up to her, making puppy dog eyes. "I'm not going outside at this hour."

"Kate c'mon, pretty pretty please? We have to go; it's the first snow of the year! It's magical and romantic and…"

"Castle! No; ok !? I just want to sleep. I'm tired. I had a horrible day, at work. My work which consists in more than procrastinating in the couch!" Ok, that wasn't necessary. She knew his work could be tiresome too, she could see for the dark bags under his eyes. Eyes that now showed a flash of hurt that e wasn't quick enough in hiding. He looks like a little boy, who was punished for saying a bad word. Sometimes this is exactly what he is, a little boy. And sometimes she forgets it. She sighs, put her coat and gets out from under the comforter. "Just for a little while ok?" He gives her the biggest smile of the world and his eyes lit up again. It warms her heart.

When they get to the rooftop her hearth is the only part of her that still warm.

But oh, the view is beautiful. A white sheet slowly covering the city that never sleeps. He hugs her from behind, and buries his nose in her hair.

"Are you cold?"

"You're warming me up" he really was. She turns in his arms to look at him. There where snow flakes in his hair and he was still smiling in that way that made his eyes wrinkles. She smiled too, getting on tiptoe to kiss him. And when they lips touched her day didn't matter anymore, or the cruelty of the world, or the cold wind on her back. He was right, snow was romantic.

"Thank you" he whispered. "For indulging with my craziness, even when you're tired and stressed." She smiles and kiss him again.

"Its all right, you always make it all better." He touched her cheek

"I love you, Mrs. Castle."

"I love you too, Mr. Castle."

Is it too horrible? Should I hide in the corner?
