"All I'm saying is it's sweet."

Will squinted to look more closely, still not quite seeing it.

"You really think he's singing?"

"I know he's singing. It's why he asked for this song for their first dance."

Deanna was unable to suppress a sigh.

"What?" It wasn't a superficial question.

"Nothing." She looked up at him and slipped her hand through his arm. "Everyone is different, Will, I'm really not complaining. I have no reason to complain. But what woman couldn't see that," she nodded wistfully in the direction of the slowly dancing couple, the dreamily smiling bride, and quietly intense groom, "and at least wonder how she would feel in the same place?"

He looked down into her eyes. She meant every word, he had no doubt of that. Still…

"I'll be right back."

She watched as he strode briskly to the bandstand and had a word with the holographic bandleader, who nodded and smiled and returned to his work. The final notes of the "first dance" were fading as Will reached the center of the dance floor and extended his hand.

"Well, come see how it feels," he invited. She didn't require a second invitation and fairly flew into his arms, not wanting to miss a step, a note… or a word, as the band segued into Will's request.
