'Thinking'

"Kagome?" Inuyasha shook the beautiful miko, who currently lay resting on the ground. She woke and turned her brown chocolate eyes.

"Inuyasha?" She turned her attention to the concerned hanyou and touched his uncertained face with gentle fingers.

"I...I..was so...so scared Kagome!"

"I'm sorry Inuyasha."

'She's not even worried about herself?' "Stupid! Don't apollogize!" Inuyasha turns away from her and looks up towards the sky.

"Inuyasha?" Kagome had noticed he was working to keep from showing the unnecesary tears that were overflowing from the brim of his eyes. She had only seen this once befor, but to see it again still surprised her. She remembered when Renkotsu had tried to kill her and the others while Inuyasha fought against Ginkotsu. That day was the first time she had ever seen him cry, though he fought despretly to keep the tears at bay. It was quite a while befor he spoke again.

"I..I thought I...lost you again."

"Did you think that i was that weak?! You know i would have pulled through for y... well the obvious reasons."

"What obvious reasons? And no! I don't think you are weak!"

"You know what reasons I mean."

"No! I don't know what you mean!"

"Well the obvious reason, more than any one of them is, that I would have come back for y...y...you."

"You would have come back for m...me?"

"Of course! Even if I can't be with you Inuyasha, I still want to be by your' side for as long as I can because I love you."

"Why can't you be with me?"

"K..Kikyo."

"Kagome..I.. I am trying to get what I can back from her. Now that Naraku is dead I'm trying to convince her that the debt has been repaid."

"But that's wrong! You love her!"

"I loved her."

"What?"

"I loved her. Loved Kagome, that is until I met you. Kikyo wanted me to be human just so that she could feel normal and beautiful, instead of having this feeling of responsibility and having to be strong and always diferent. But you Kagome. You are a preistess, but you live a normal life and you don't ask me to be what you want me to be, you ask me to be me. And I love you for that."

"You do?"

"Yes Kagome. It's because of the fact that you see me as you would a normal man that I have this disire to be with you, because I know you wouldn't hurt me. But what I can't understand is why you would stay with me after I have failed once again to protect you?"

"Because it wasn't your' fault Inuyasha. You were tricked. And I know that if you turly knew what was going on that you wouldn't have hesitated to come save us." Kagome started to cough and Inuyasha poured her a glass of water.

"Here." He hands her the cup which she gladly acepts.

" Thank you."

"It wernt that biga deal. All I had to do was pour..

"Not for the water. For coming back to save me. And be with me."

"Ka...Kagome."

"N,N s' nothing just thanks."

"Kagome. I love you and I'm going to try to be here when you need me more often. I just wanna thank you for staying with me for as long as you have and for understanding the way I feel."

"I love you Inuyasha. I always will."

"I know and I love you too." They held each other for what seemed like an eternity until he kissed the top of her head and tucked her in for the night.
