Mini-Story One:

Why Neko Likes Boys With Eyeliner

Part One: Before Touya

"God, Neko! Give it a rest!" Kaze exclaimed, rolling her eyes at the Shape-Shifter of Ice. Neko refused to obey, tailing after first one boy, then another before going after yet another boy in the endless crowd of boys at the arcade. "What are you doing anyway?"

"Chasing boys." Neko replied casually.

"No shit, Sherlock. I can see that." Kaze retorted, before taking a large gulp of water from her personnel water bottle. Since they had so many enemies, Kaze always drank out of water bottles she prepared and packed herself. Neko was a little less careful.

"Well, it's like me asking you why you always drink out of water bottles you yourself prepared. We aren't under constant attack you know." the ice Shape-Shifter pointed out, walking behind another boy.

"Still, choose one boy and stick with him. Goof around with too many and you've got a big problem." the Shape-Shifter of the Arctic winds grumbled.

"Well at least I have the guts to actually be near boys!" Neko shrugged, sticking her nose in the air like a snob. Kaze's blood boiled.

"Choosing to protect myself from further harm doesn't mean I don't have guts. I'm just using my brain."

"Oh, you actually have one? Funny, I never see you as the type to think for yourself. I mean, you always follow the rules. You're such a rebel." Neko responded, pushing Kaze to the brink of her anger.

"WELL EXCUSE YOU! IF IT WEREN'T FOR ME, YOU'D STILL BE STUCK IN THE GODDAMN SLAVE TRADE!" Kaze exploded, Neko having aggitated her too far. Her hair hung over her eyes, but even that didn't stop her glare from peircing Neko's eyes. The Shape-shifter of Ice backed away, before she turned and stalked another teenage boy. A dark cloud began forming in the air, starting over Kaze.

Neko didn't notice.

ZZZZT! the power went out, making the entire arcade go black. The metal gate seperating the area from the rest of the mall closed with a CLANG! Many of the boys panicked, unsure of what had happened. Another lightning bolt struck at Neko's feet, finally gaining the Ice weilder's attention. She whirled around, ice dagger forming over her hand.

Kaze was unimpressed, a mass of black clouds and crackling lightning hovering around her. The winds swirled down, surrounding her in a tornado while lightning crackled on the outside of the funnel. Another bolt shot at Neko.

"Gah!" Neko squeeled, dodging away. She knew better than to get in front of Kaze's attack. The arcade game behind her blew apart into thousands of pieces that showered the teens inside the room. The winds grew in strength.

Then they faded. Neko lay curled into a corner, covering her body in a thick sheild of ice. Kaze smiled, the storm disappearing. Then, she laughed. Neko unfroze herself and looked at Kaze.

"Rebel enough for you now?" Kaze asked, raising an eyebrow. Neko nodded, wide-eyed at Kaze's quick change. A boy walked up to Kaze, then gaped. Kaze examined his face - he was one of the boys Neko had been chasing. A new smile flashed across her face.

"I get it now, Neko," she said, "you like boys in eyeliner."
