I wrote this for my friend Elisa, and she gave me the prompt, "We'll all float on." This is what happened. I don't own NCIS.

"Don't worry, Ziva. Everything will be alright; I can promise you that. Maybe the walkie talkie broke. Maybe they can't get in contact with us-"

"BECAUSE THEY ARE DEAD. THEY CANNOT GET IN CONTACT WITH US BECAUSE THEY ARE DEAD, TONY," Ziva screamed, her eyes shooting daggers and filling with tears. "THEY ARE ALL DEAD TONY. ABBA'S DEAD," she added, the tears racing down her cheeks.

Then Ziva turned away and walked over to the couch. She sat down and pulled her legs up to her chest, her tears hitting her knees. She couldn't stand the fact that they hadn't gotten in contact with her father yet. Yes, he had been absent in her life for five years, but he was still her father.

Ziva heard Tony's footsteps behind her and she quickly wiped the tears away. "Go away, Tony," she snapped.

DiNozzo sat down on the couch and pulled Ziva into his arms. "Shh, Ziva. Everything will be okay. Please, don't cry. I'm sure that there is a logical reason that they did not answer our call. Maybe they were being followed. Maybe your father does not want you hurt. He knew that they were being followed, so he did not answer our call; if he did answer it, then whoever was following him would come find us and they would hurt you," Tony explained, wiping Ziva's tears away.

Ziva buried her head in Tony's chest and closed her eyes. "Abba's dead, Tony. He's gone. There's nothing more that we can do," she whispered.

DiNozzo ran his fingers through Ziva's hair and kissed the top of her head. "Ziva, don't worry. Everything will be alright. Eli's not dead. I promise you that he is alive. Please, stop crying. Everything will be alright," Tony whispered, kissing the top of her head again.

Ziva looked up at Tony, studying his face. How he could have all this hope, she did not know. But she did appreciate it. She was so glad that he was here, when she was so down. "Tony...I..." she trailed off, searching his face.

Tony took the opportunity to kiss her lips gently. After a moment he pulled away and murmured, "We all float on alright, Ziva. Everything will be okay. Eli will contact us when he is alone. He is fine, I promise."

Ziva believed him. She believed that everything would be alright.
