The sky has always been fascinating. Severe boredom was the cause of this! I hope you forgive me for its length. :)
For Hotaru, who has always waited.

The sun was hidden behind the clouds, but its rays tore past it and pierced through anyone. But it was unnaturally cold, as if winter herself bid a parting kiss and was gone. The wind blew and with it, a few leaves danced their way up to the sky then they were no more.
"Okay, for our next poet, Hotaru." Narumi smiled and nodded towards the lithe figure who exuded an air of nonchalance. Mikan stared at Hotaru and she stared back before proceeding.
"Midnight Sky
It was the midnight sky that lured you
Into the open air
But then you look up, and the stars weren't there
The smell of dandelions washes through your nose
The scent lingers, an invisible ghost
A touch of your shoulder, urges you to look up
And you stare in horror at the graceful face
The face that hid from you so many lies
That face that looks up the midnight sky
And without a word, silence ensues
The sound of critters the only music to your ears
You stand like that, an unknown muse
Waiting for the stars to show
But then the grass brushes your bare knees
And you look down to see, that your companion was no more
Like bubbles that are popped in the
Unmindful shore
The wind blows hard into your face
Enveloping your figure in a tight embrace
The night has not been darker that before
For the midnight sky, no star'll ever show."
There was a pause and then everyone applauded. That night, Hotaru Imai was found dead.
I know that there is a grammatical error at stanza 2. Have a good day! :)
