Her Duty: A Poem?
By:NeoMoon

I write in the mist hoping to sedate my grief and sorrow.
I write of my feelings and fears, in the hope to find understanding.
I write in the mist for I have nothing else.

I am Pluto. Guardian of Time.
I am Pluto. Guardian of Space.
I am Pluto. Guardian of the Damned and hopeless.

I do not deserve to be this, a guardian.
I do not believe any deserve this title.
I do not believe any deserve this punishment.

I am a fool, I fell for her lies.
I am a fool, I fell for her truths.
I am a fool, I listened to my mother.

I was taught by my father.
I was taught honor.
I was taught duty.

I, my being is engrained.
I am engrained with his sense of honor.
I am imprisoned by my sense of duty.

I stand my post out of duty.
I wish to leave.
I loathe this place.

I am a child of honor.
I am one boring out of duty.
I am one who feels a knife in their heart.

I can see into the future.
I can see into the past.
I can see everything, all there is ever was, or what could be.

I am alone.
I watch them as they live.
I am so alone.

I weep.
I weep for them.
I weep for myself.

I wish for what they have.
I wish to feel their love.
I wish to feel their pain.

I am a prisoner.
I am too afraid to leave.
I am too afraid to abandon my post.

I am a soldier.
I am a child.
I am nothing.

I hate them.
I hate them for what they have.
I hate them because I can never be like them.

I am so alone.
I am so afraid.
I am so cold within this mist.

I guard the gate.
I guard the key.
I guard my fragile soul more then all else.

I would give anything to leave.
I would give anything to be like them.
I would give anything not to believe in duty.

I wish for death.
I wish for freedom.
I wish for the tender caress of another.

I stand here guarding the gate.
I stand here for her honor.
I stand here because I believe in duty.

I am Pluto. I guard Time.
I am Pluto. I guard Space.
I am Pluto. I guard out of duty.

I am life.
I am death.
I am a sacrifice.
