Chapter One: What the Fuck am I Doing?

Hi. My name is James Lucas William Marshall Potter. I'm 17. I'm a death eater.
Yeah. You heard correctly. A death eater. Like Lucius Malfoy or something. Yesterday, Lily said to me, "James, what are you doing?" "Huh?" I replied, clueless. "You're a death eater. You have a dark mark." "So?" But yet the whole time, I was thinking the same thing. "What the fuck am I doing?"
You see. Three years ago, you could have called me the world's most perfect Gryffindork.
I was fourteen, had a girlfriend, I was prefect, team captain and Chaser for Gryffindor. I hung out with the same kids I had all my life. I was the smartest kid in my year, and I was doing great.
Then, it all spun out of control. I meddled with Lucius Malfoy.
It was Friday, the Friday before Lily's birthday, and Lucius told me to come with him and his entourage. Even though I had a date with my perfect little red-headed prefect girlfriend, I agreed.
So I went. It was fun, at first. Just screwing around, wizards chess, whiskey and such, and then they asked me.
"Potter, join us." More of an order than a question, ne? Hehe. Anyway. I agreed, mais naturallment. "Sure." After that, it all spun out of control.
I missed dates with Lily. I missed her birthday, sweet sixteen. Totally forwent it. Let's fast forward 5 years.
I'm twenty, married, with a pregnant wife, and about to betray everything I've been taught in the past five years. I'm going to tell Lucius that I quit, screw him and his little group, I have a family to take care of. First, to tell Lily.
"Liliana?" "Mmm-hmm? Aren't you supposed to be at a meeting, Mister?" "Nope." "What?" "I quit." "They'll kill you!" "Fuck them." "Don't swear around the baby!" "Sorry." "Accepted."
So today is the day my life is about to change. Huh.
