Pairing: Hermione / Rabastan.
She has grown used to pain in some twisted kind of way she looks forwards to it. At least it was a reprieve from the mind numbing boredom of being locked in a cell day after day. There are only so many times someone can count the bricks in the wall.
If, Rabastan was in a good mood he would read to her or let her out of the cell for a little while, but only if she's promised not to tell anyone. She never bothers to try and run because there was no way she would make it out the house alive.
She's too stubborn to allow herself to give up and crave death, it's the Gryffindor in her.
Once Rabastan even took her outside. It was raining and in the middle of the night, but Hermione hadn't cared about any of that, only that she was actually outside after months of being locked up. Bellatrix caught him creeping her back into the house and went absolutely mental. Hermione knew if Rodolphus hadn't been there to pull her off Rabastan then Bellatrix would have killed him. He hadn't even tried to fight back when she launched at him just took her crazed attack as if were an every day occurrence.
Hermione knew that it was the first and last trip outside.
She hates Rabastan for everything he has done to innocent people, but he's the only person she has had a proper conversation with in nearly a year. Talking to him has been the only thing that has kept her sane.
Line Break
Sometimes she is given rare little treats such as being allowed to wash or given clean clothes.
Hermione can tell by Rabastan's face that the only reason she has been given these luxuries is because that everyone is in a good mood after killing lot's of innocent people.
The worse part is that she's so happy to get clean that she doesn't care whose dead. Hermione doesn't know when she first stopped caring about others and focused on the things she was being given, but she doesn't like it.
If there's something to really celebrate they have parties that go on all night long. She's either left alone all night or dragged up stairs to part of the entertainment depending on mood people are in.
No one has figured out that she can't feel pain anymore, even though she desperately wants to again.
Rabastan visits are becoming increasingly more frequent, it's the only thing she can cling to anymore. It's pathetic that a man drenched in sin is the only thing that she has that gets her through the days and nights in this hell.
