It was quiet.

He had his head rested on her shoulder. After the big moment, they found themselves lying on the bed, awake, tangled up in her soft blue sheets; but none of them said a word. It all felt as if it happened so slowly, yet so fast; they needed time to process the entire thing that had just happened. All the shock and amazement from the realization that they had just did it – or could do it, to be more precise – made them feel overwhelmed.

He moved his head, nestling it more comfortably on her shoulder, closer to her neck. She leaned her right cheek onto his forehead and then kissed it.

He let out a long sigh.

'What is it?' Amy asked, almost in a whisper.

He didn't answer. Instead, he trailed his fingers along her right hand, all the way up to her shoulder. And then down, towards her palm. Then he clasped his hand with hers.

'Do you know,' he began after a moment, 'that you've ruined my whole plan?'

Amy stared at the floral pattern on the ceiling, thinking. It was not that she didn't know - she knew exactly the answer to the question: yes. In his plan, there's no coitus involved. It was the same for her too; she had never intended to ever have it, and she had never thought that she would eventually do it – not before she met Sheldon. Not before she met the pale, lanky guy with such a unique (and similar) personality that she started to dream about the possibility of her actually doing it with a man.

Not before she fell for him.

She squeezed his hand. 'Well, you've ruined mine too.'

He felt her warm breaths on the skin of his forehead. It comforted him somehow.

'I didn't plan for this to happen,' he said softly, 'I was always able to control myself. Being able to suppress myself over these kinds of things always made me feel…special. And proud.'

She waited. When he said nothing, she proceeded to lure him to continue with, 'But?'

'But,' he hesitated. 'But… Why does this feel so right?'

Silence.

'Do you feel the same?' he asked, his voice sounded weaker than before.

'I do,' Amy answered, her voice shook. She could feel hot tears welling up in her eyes. 'I really do.'

Then more silence followed. Amy brushed her tears with her free hand, feeling incredibly touched by his words. After all the efforts that she had done – that they both had done – that moment was what she had been waiting for. The moment where he was finally able to acknowledge that she held a very special place in his heart.

This was it.

'Sheldon…' she was ready to say those big three words to him when she suddenly realized that he had fallen asleep. Smiling, she kissed his forehead once again, and then grabbed her cell phone from the side table. After typing a message, she put it back on the table, adjusted herself more comfortably on the bed with him and tried to fall asleep. Although, she thought, with all the adrenalin that was still rushing in her circulatory system, she'd probably get no sleep.

Penny got awaken at a brutal hour in the morning by the sound of her upstairs' neighbour's singing. It always annoyed her, but they were an old couple; they'd be singing not for long. Thinking that she wouldn't be able to get any more sleep anyway, she sat up, took her cell phone, planning to call Leonard in order to have breakfast together. A message notification from Amy blinked on the screen, and Penny decided to read it first. It made her squeal.

"Mission accomplished."
