Just an short, alternative final scene for 'Cyberwoman'. Please read and review!
It was late. Everyone had gone home. Everyone but Jack and Ianto.
Ianto was still in the basement, staring at Lisa. His Lisa. His part Cyberman Lisa. Not the pizza girl who just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time but his girlfriend Lisa. The one they had shot. They were supposed to be his teammates, his friends but not anymore. True friends would have helped him and Lisa, not execute her. He may have to work with them but he didn't have to like them.
He reached out, his fingers resting against her cheek. He let them run down her cheek as he reminded himself that he could have saved her. He nearly saved her. He had promised her. One year ago, on this day, he had promised to do everything in his power to save her.
His attempt had just led to her destruction.
He had failed her.
Again. He had failed to look out for her at the Battle of Canary Wharf. He had worried to much about saving his own skin than helping her. He had watched her, from his hiding space, as she was led away to her death by the Cybermen. It was only when the battle was over that he finally went after her and he had been too late.
Half of her had died on that day. The other half died today, once again, because of him, failing to keep her safe.
A shadow fell across her face and Ianto looked up to see a figure in the doorway: Jack. The man who had given him that ridiculous choice. 'You execute her or I'll execute you both.' How could he have expected him to kill her. He had loved her, had faith in her and he was ordered to kill her by him. He didn't go through with it. He had tried to kill her but it was too much to ask and, Jack didn't go through with his threat of killing Ianto and Ianto knew it was because Jack wanted him to feel the pain. The pain of losing someone dear to you.
He glared up at Jack, whose face remained emotionless. "Go home, Ianto Jones," he spoke calmly, as if nothing had happened. "Go home."
