Glenn dale asylum was built in 1934 it surged as a tuberculosis treatment center in its later years Glenn dale housed the criminally insane patients were mistreated and not taken care of . Many children 13and over who couldn't take care of them selves died and were put into morgues in the basement .glenn dale was run by an man damed dale smith he believed in torture the patients were tortured using shock treatment and types of brain surgery . It closed its doors in 1982 due to questions of stability and large amounts of asbestos . Since Glenn dale closed so suddenly patients who had no were to go we're just simply released out into the open . Most people had no family and no life at all so they went back into the asylum were they are rumored to still be treated by wardens who never left. Guards stand by 24 hours a day to protect the secrets of Glenn dale
