"I don't know, dude. Are you sure you haven't lost it yet?"
"Come on! It'll be just like the good ol' days! I promise!"
Jon and Emile were sitting in their hotel room, bored out of their minds. Tim hadn't arrived in town yet, so the two needed a way to kill the time.
Jon let himself fall back onto the bed, his Wii-mote in one hand. "You're just going to murder me over and over, just like in the video. You sure about this?"
Emile threw his Wii-mote in the air, catching it soon after. "Come on! We'll add the CPUs in there, too." It was obvious he was impatient, so he jumped up off the bed and plugged the last few cords into the right places. "A quick lil' match, Jon. Please?" The room fell into silence, until Jon broke it with a small sigh. "Fine. Just don't go too crazy, alright?" Emile cracked a grin, quickly turning the Wii on.
Ready? Fight!
Emile had chosen Lucas, while Jon was Ike. There was one CPU (who's difficulty was on hard,) on the screen as well, who was obviously Yoshi. Even though Tim wasn't at the hotel room yet, they agreed to at least let him be there in spirit.
"Why did I agree to let y-" Jon stopped himself from continuing his question when a phone went off; the quick tune that plays in Pokemon games when you catch one in the PokeBall. Emile glanced down at his phone, pausing the Brawl soon after, responding with, "Tim's in the lobby. Good thing we only have 2 lives, eh?" Jon nodded, shrugging as well. "Let's finish this then go downstairs, 'kay?" Emile nodded, un-pausing the game.
The sound of a rolling suitcase echoed throughout the hallway. In Tim's other hand was the room key he went up to the front desk to get. Lugging his suitcase up the stairs, he strolled down the hallway, looking for the room he was supposed to find his friends at. 201...202...203...204... He stopped at 205.
"THE FUCK, MAN?!"
Laughter and cussing could be heard from the other side of the door. Seems like they're having a good time. He casually used the room key to open the door, finding Emile and Jon both howling with laughter.
Tim closed the door, setting his suitcase next to the bathroom door, which wasn't that far away from the door to the hallway. He threw on a grin, a little curious. "Did I miss something?"
Emile set down his Wii-mote to point at the screen. "It's a tie, dude! See? I didn't kick your ass like you thought I would!" Jon nodded, clutching his stomach from all the laughter.
Tim walked over to the TV to check. Sure enough, no one had won the Brawl. Lucas and Ike were tied for first, while Yoshi was in second place.
Thinking about it, he wondered what would've happened if this was how their recording from forever ago had went.
Tim kept his grin as he picked up the Wii-mote that was on the nightstand. It didn't hurt to join in, right? "Don't leave me out of the fun, guys!"
