She weakly glanced at her pale wrinkled hands. Oh, how the time has passed she thought. The memories created over the years, the battles she fought, the friends she made… The friends she lost. 70 years later and she could remember every intense battle like she could remember every freckle on Ymir's body. Ah, Ymir. Her Ymir, her strong titan shifter, the love and saviour of her life, her world, her hero, her everything.
"Ymir, sweetie, come here." She called in a slow calm tone.
"Christa, honey, is it too cold in here? Would you like a blanket? Some more pillows? Should I turn the heater on?"
"No, just come here."
"Is everything okay?"
"I'm fine. I just wanted you to know I love you."
"I know you love me, darling. I love you too."
Christa glanced back down to her hands but this time focused on the diamond ring around her finger. Ymir noticed this and softly intwined their fingers before leaning in capturing Christa's lips with her own.
"That was the best decision of my life."
"Mine too. Ymir… I… I'll miss you."
"I know… I know."
Christa could hear the choked back sobs in Ymir's voice. Ymir was very good at hiding her emotions but this time Christa could see right through her like seeing right through a window just cleaned by Levi.
"I don't want you to… I don't want you to… I don't.. I… I…"
She couldn't do it anymore, she couldn't hold all her emotions together. She fell to the floor in an emotional mess, sobbing uncontrollably. Christa could only sit there in tears, bedridden, as she watched the love of her life shatter right in front of her. Ymir eventually regained her calm and once again took Christa's hand.
"I'll always… ALWAYS love you! I promise!"
"I know, my freckled devil. I know."
Ymir could feel Christa's pulse slowing down. She tried her best to hold back the tears but failed miserably.
"My beautiful Christa, it's like age didn't touch you at all. If anything, it made you more goddess like each day."
"Thank you… Ymir…"
Ymir could feel her goddesses pulse get even slower and slower as the seconds passed.
"I won't forget you."
"I won't forget you either."
"I love you."
"I love you too."
Christa's eyes sparkled and she gave the most adorable smile to Ymir before her eyes closed and a single tear rolled down her cheek.
"I'll never forget you, my little angel."
