Could It Be...?
I feel that I have gone too far
I see her eyes light up like stars
And see that dangerous light inside
"Don't mess with me. Don't even try."
She's far too arrogant, far too silent
Far too many secrets lurking inside the quiet
And her eyes...everything about her is linked to their light
They're too powerful, too dark, and yet too bright
But somewhere behind those eyes, so determined, filled with stars
I think I see something else...sorrow? despair? I see a scar
And yet it gives no hint as to the cause
But that sadness within her makes me pause
Could it be that she's not the fierce enemy she seems?
Could it be that inside this mysterious girl, too, there are dreams?
Could it be that she's truly one of us?
Could it be that one day she'll be worthy of our trust?
I know nothing of her past, I don't know what she was
And sometimes I feel that she cannot be human, never one of us
Never one of my race, but that's impossible I know
So why is it that her eyes with secrets so often glow?
