A/N: Written for the Hogwarts Games: Medley - Anything You Want
Draco walked into the dungeons, that mysterious white box sitting in his pocket. He'd found it only a few minutes ago as he was speaking to Crabbe and Goyle in the Slytherin Common Room. He took out the box from his pocket, and opened it.
Blaise Zambini sat in the common room. He set a small white box down onto the wooden counter to his left.
He walked back into his room to retrieve a book.
Draco gaped in delight at the gem he found inside that box. An emerald it looked like. He wondered whose it could be...
Zambini and Malfoy walked right past each other as Blaise walked back into the common room. He plopped himself back onto the couch that he was sitting on previously, sighing as he did.
Malfoy caressed the stone in his hand. He wrapped his small fingers around it. It was the biggest gem he'd ever seen.
He never would've guessed it would be sitting on a table for anyone's taking. I mean, who would be so stupid as to leave something so precious in a common room? And a Slytherin common room!
Blaise looked up from his book, fright flooding into his eyes.
The stone. He would be in so much trouble if his parents learned that he lost it...
A groggy looking Crabbe and Goyle walked into the rooms, eying Draco.
"Where did you two run off to?" Draco set the stone back into the box and slowly put it into his robes. He hoped the two of them wouldn't notice.
"I don't know. I think we fell asleep," Goyle said.
"Where!?" Draco exclaimed, a look of sincere intrigue on his face.
"We woke up on the ground," Crabbe said. Draco brushed them off, taking no notice.
"Have you seen a small white box anywhere, Draco?" Blaise asked, terror on his face.
"Um, no." Draco tucked the box into his pocket. "Why?"
"Don't worry about it."
Blaise paced his room, searching everywhere for the box. He gasped as he spotted one that looked similar to his on his and Draco's nightstand. He tiptoed towards it, and put it into his pocket.
How did he miss seeing it this entire time?
He'd lost it. Draco had lost it. He's been searching for it all day, but he couldn't find it.
It wasn't his to lose.
It wasn't ever his.
Blaise walked towards Draco, giving him a handshake before stepping onto the train back home.
"Merry Christmas, from my parents to yours." Blaise handed his friend a gift inside a small white box, one that Draco recognized very well.
