His dark eyes stared at the female across the room intently, watching as she wrapped her arms around another male. He should've known by now that this was all a game to her – that he didn't really matter to her and the nights that they had spent together wrapped in one another's arm were nights that she just felt sorry for him and that's it. She didn't feel for him, she never would and he could see it now that she was with… him. He himself wanted her, he had never wanted someone so much in his entire life – not even Caroline measured up to her, and he had told the older vampire that when he had finally told her how he felt only for the two of them to sleep together once again and for him to wake up the next morning with nothing but her smell in the sheets and a written note with a single word saying goodbye.
What had he done so wrong? Why couldn't he have her… why wouldn't she allow him to love her like she allowed his uncle Mason to? Hell, that was probably fake too – she didn't love his uncle either, or him, or… no she probably loved that guy she was with now… the one that was just like him, the one that was making her laugh and the one that she was kissing… why couldn't that be him? Sighing then as he stared on to the females' movements he finally looked away, his eyes hooding downwards as he picked up a glass of alcohol to his right and downed it in the matter of two short seconds. The burning sensation was enough to heal the sudden pain he felt in his chest, a pain that he had never felt before – heartbreak.
Taking a deep breath he moved out of the room and through the sea of people that were minding their own business and having fun not even bothering to notice him take the bottle of liquor that was on the table next to the door, just like no one seemed to notice how he felt. The cool fall air hit him like a ton of bricks and once he took a swig from the opened bottle, he saw her again only without the other guy but… in front of him. "Tyler…" She breathed out effortlessly as he broke his lips away from the bottle and her hand moved to the side of his face. "I'm sorry…" She spoke again, her voice fading away as her name was called behind her ushering her to go away.
The hybrids eyes looked into hers, as he let out his own sigh as she pressed her lips to his softly – her eyes glassy as she broke away and his heart breaking once again as she started to turn away from him only for him to grab her wrist in his hand to pull her back to press his lips to hers more urgently. "Stay." He asked… no he pleaded as he tangled his hands in her dark brunette curls hoping and wishing that this was just a dream and that she would stay like all the nights before and tell him that none of this was a game… that she did feel for him just so she would put him back together again.
But his wishful thinking was unaccounted for as she backed away from him –her own dark eyes still glassy as she shook her head and repeated her words. "I'm sorry." And before he knew it she was gone in a flash leaving him there by himself… standing there with the bottle in his hand and his heart on the ground as he realized it again. She would never be his, she would never be the only one for him, he would never be the one that protected her and she would never love him… because he could never have her, and for that he would be broken, and be hurt to the notion that he was nothing but a pawn in her game of chess when all he wanted to be was a puzzle piece in her life.
