A young ebony hedgehog walked along the shore of the Emerald Coast. Her crimson red eyes focused on the rolling waves. She always felt calm around the water. Suddenly, a large boom sounded behind the hedgehog, causing her knees to buckle. "What was that?" A figure in the distance started towards her. "Get out of here! Quick!" it called. The ebony hedgehog felt the ground shake violently. "Move! Now!" The figure disappeared in thin air. "Hey!" The hedgehog felt something grab her hand.

5 years later...

"Move it, Sky! You're gonna make us late!" Sam called to her friend. Sky moved a strand of hair out of her face. "Late for what? Getting our butts kicked by another 'living weapon' again?" Sam huffed. "Jeez, just because Shadow can beat you up doesn't mean Metal Sonic will" Sky stared at the ground. "He didn't beat me up...I just wasn't ready..."

"Wh-Where are we?" the hedgehog asked, looking around cautiously. "Somewhere safe..." a voice replied, letting go of the scared hedgehog's hand. "Who are you?"

"Samantha...but, just call me Sam. Alright?"

"O-Okay."

"...don't be scared, I won't hurt you."

Sam smiled warmly at the hedgehog. "May I have your name?" "Serenity. But you can call me Sky" "Okay, Ser- I mean, Sky. Why didn't you move?" Sky's ears pressed against her head. "I was scared..."

The two hedgehogs were silent. "It's hard to believe how much we changed since we met, isn't it?" Sam asked, hoping for a conversation. "Yeah," Sky replied. "i'll always remember how much you scared the hell out of me" Sam burst into laughter. "Hey! It's not funny!" Sky snapped. She smiled, she couldn't help it.

"Don't worry about it now. Lucky I was there to save ya, huh Sky?" "Yeah" Sam raised an eyebrow. "You okay, bud?" "Bud?" Sky asked quietly.

"Oh, look at the mess we've made," said Sam, smiling at her companion. "I'll say. Hehe, you and I are double trouble" "Yep." Sky's smile faded. "But...what if this mission turns out badly? What if you one of us gets hurt?" Sam gazed at the black and red hedgehog. "Don't worry. I'll never let anything hurt you, and that's a promise"

"Sure, you're my bud, aren't you Sky?" Sam asked. "Yeah, I guess so..." "You know what? I think you and I will make a great team"

Since I don't have the first chapter yet, I decided to post a prolouge :) Hope you guys enjoyed ^^ And stay tuned :D More to come.
