When Elliot and Olivia go undercover at a ski lodge, will a steamy weekend stuck in a cabin over the holidays change their relationship?
Chapter 1: An early present

A bitter cold December 22, Elliot and Olivia were finishing paperwork for a child murder case that had just wrapped up. Justice had been served, and the offender was put behind bars. Munch and Fin strolled in, brining four hot coffees for everyone to share.
"ho ho ho! Santa came early and brought coffee that was not Munch made" Fin stated jokingly.
"Hey you know my coffee is New York's finest!" Munch argued back.
Then, Cragen emerged from his office. He had been sitting in there all day, looking stressed and taking phone calls.
"Liv, El, my office please"
The two detectives looked at each other questioningly as they approached the office.
"What's up Cap?" Elliot said as the partners sat down across from their captain.
"I want you two to do an undercover case." he stated firmly. "Before you ask questions let me explain. It's a case that's not in our jurisdiction, but this case is too big for the police in the area to handle. You will be going to a ski resort called Gore Mountain, upstate in a town called North Creek. Now this case is different, two men have been found raped and murdered. Each time found naked and covered in blood on the floor. Both victims were men with wives but no children. The lodge, because it does not want a bad rep, has kept the case on low profile. The lodge is the only business the town has. Your job is to go in and find the killer, most likely a town resident or a lodge staff member. I want you to leave tomorrow morning"
"cap" Elliot stated. "Christmas is only a few days away. Can't this wait till after the holidays.?"
"No. The lodge says that a lot of couples visit over the holiday, and they want to prevent another murder."
Elliot sighed. He knew how pissed Kathy would be that he would miss spending Christmas with the family, but he couldn't turn down getting to play Olivia's husband for a while.
"Fine I'll do it. So what are our identities?"
Olivia almost protested for him, to say that he shouldn't miss spending Christmas with his family, but in her heart she knew she wanted to be with him, so she stayed silent.
"Well" said Cragen. "You will be James and Emma Walters. James, you manage a sports complex and Emma you are a realator. You are from Texas and wanted to escape to somewhere cold so it would feel like winter. You have been married for three years, and are waiting for the right time to have a child. Got the story? Tomorrow you will drive a rent a car up to the resort. We have you booked for 2 weeks, the max time the trip should take, but hopefully less."
Elliot and Olivia grabbed their new licenses as James and Emma and bid their goodbyes for the night, and said a farewell happy holidays to their fellow detectives. If only they knew what kind of trip they were going on...
