Author's Note: Man, I am on a roll today. Lol. Yet another Freddy/Zack, oneshot/songfic. This is Zack's point of view. Enjoy!
Warning: Slash!
Disclaimer: School of Rock is not mine. The song is Radio's In Heaven and is by the Plain White T's.
----------
Your time has already come and I don't know
why
The last thing that I had heard
you were doing just fine
It
seems like just yesterday
I was laughing with you
Playing games
at Grandma's house
well you taught me well, didn't you?
I hope
I'm just like you
Do they have radios in heaven?
I hope
they do
'Cause they're playing my song on the radio
and I'm
singing it to you
Remember all of those times when we were younger when we would meet and you would walk with me to my Grandma's? We would stay there all day playing games in the sun and in the rain. A few months ago when I saw you last, you were okay. Why did this have to happen? Why did it have to be your time to go? It seems like it was just yesterday that I was ten and playing with you in the band and laughing about whatever it is we laughed about when we were ten years old.
You left before I had a chance to say goodbye
But
that's the way life usually is
it just passes you by
But you
can't hold on to regrets and you can't look back
So I'll just be
thankful for the times that I had with you
I hope I'm just like
you
You had to go when I was mad at you and we weren't talking. I never had a chance to say, I'm sorry and that you are my everything—that you were my everything. I never got to say goodbye to you. Does this happen to everyone? Does no one ever get to say a final goodbye to the one they love? I'm thankful for the twenty years I've known you, the times that we were friends, band mates, and sometimes a little more. After today, I won't look back; I won't regret the time I spent with you.
Do they have radios in heaven?
I hope they
do
'Cause they're playing my song on the radio
And I'm singing
it to you
If they don't have radios in heaven
here's what I'll
do
I can bring my guitar when my time is up and I'll play it for
you
Tell me can you hear
me now
if not, then I can try to sing real loud
what's it like
up on the other side of the clouds?
I hope I'm just like you
I
hope I turn out to be as good as you
Do they have radios in heaven? I hope they do. I wish you could hear me now, hear my songs on the radio. All of the songs are for you—I'm singing to you. When it's my time to go at last, I'll bring my guitar to play it for you. You were everything I could ever hope to be. You were the real thing—you were my one true love and I had to go and screw things up. I hope I end up like you; I want to be just like you. I love you Freddy Jones, can you hear me?
